You are allowed to get heated in a debate, otherwise debates would be boring. The bottom line is that everyone want's to see Blizzard be more active but just have different approaches on doing something.
lets be honest with our selves here. who started the personal attacks and insults? i think if ppl stayed calm and intelligent to begin with instead of crack stupid, lame, and un funny jokes and give un needed high 5s this would have turned out alot differently.
obviously all parties were at fault (except painuser) so it is stupid to point fingers, but what im basically trying to say is that if everyone in that argument was like painuser this would have been a pretty good debate.

I just want you to understand that nobody, not destiny, not reddit or the scene in general benefits from tedious fanboy posts like these. there is literally nothing of substance, somewhat ironically, in what you're saying to the point where I can't even hazard a guess as to what you could mean. I legitimately feel bad when a destiny supporter accuses other personalities of ego worship when the man's own ego got him onto the show last minute to be "insulted" in the first place.

Note though, just compare LoL (skill-less game compared to SC2) and SC2 viewership. Tournments are up high but I have NEVER seen a LIVE event of SC2 reach near or even over 200k viewers. If it did then I'm sorry for being Ignorant but if you compare Dream Hack events (LoL and Sc2) you will certainly notice the audience difference

Destiny was improfessional and not level-headed. And the way he exited the show was downright horrendous. He didnt acknowledge SC2 streams specifically at all, because Idra, Geoff, and PainUser ALL would have agreed with what Destiny said, but Wheat heard the question and substituted his own Wow did no one take elementary school math? So if I have 100 apples and I divide them evenly and put into 10 baskets. Then someone takes out all of the apples and doubles the number of apples, adds 20 extra baskets and spreads the apples out evenly in all of the baskets. Destiny: The number of apples have gone down. DjWheat: No, the number of apples have actually increased but there are less in each single basket. Dertiny: Oh really?! Well ask basket number 4 then if it has more apples in it! maybe because your from Sweden you didnt understand my basic english.... Destiny said "Less people are watching SC2" and Wheats response was "More people are watching twitchtv and video games" Destiny was talking about SC2 and Wheat said "but more people are watching other games" he didnt even address what Steven said... I am not saying that Wheat was wrong. I am not saying that spreading an equal number across a greater variety = less. I am saying, Steven was talking about SC2 stream counts. Wheat wasnt. Steven wasnt saying "nobody watches twitch" he was saying "people arent watching SC2 on twitch as much" which is true,, and Wheat ignored what he said, just like you did. Congrats on being unable to comprehend what both I and Steven said. OMG YES HE DID RESPOND. Pointing out that more people is watching twitch IS THE RESPONSE. Because because streaming is becoming more and more popular and easier to do more people are watching streams in general but there are also WAY MORE STREAMS. There are less viewers on sc2 pro player streams because many of those viewers are also watching other things, this is the fact for all streaming, streaming in general is growing but being more spread out so everyone gets less views at any one point. They might still have the same number of followers but people might tune in and watch one game and then watch a halflife speedrun on another stream instead of watching only a player stream for 5 hours straight. Ya he responded with irrelevant information. If I say "Baseball viewership is down" Saying "but sports viewership as a whole is up" is not even acknowledging what I said. I am speaking for the viewership of a single isolated sport. I am not interested in the viewership of other sports. I am currently discussing the viewership of baseball. This is the same as saying "Man basketball sucks" and someone responds with "No way, football is fucking awsome" Really? Is this real life? It is like talking to a wall. I cant dumb it down for you anymore, I am sorry. Maybe you should get someone to translate it for you. I understand that people are watching other games on Twitchtv.... but it STILL means less people are watching SC2 which was Destiny's point. Keep on trying to insult me with nationalistic undertones that helps your credibility. I understand english perfectly well thank you.
Destiny's point was with the added baggage that the views on sc2 are down because the game is dying. Wheat pointed out that streaming is expanding massively but it is also spreading out way more to new streams thus with the result that there are less viewers for EVERYONE so if numbers are going down for sc2 or not has nothing to do with sc2 at all. Wheat's explanation is obviously relevant because he was explaining the dynamics of stream counts alltogether.

Why are you so petty? The instance you are referring to, where Wheat "misinterpreted" what destiny said, was probably for the good, as he chose instead to elaborate on a more relevant point.
By the way, I found the point in the VOD to which you are referring, and here is the dialogue.
Destiny: Ya, well, compared to maybe a couple years ago, but stream viewership numbers for everything is down now compared to six months ago...
And then, Wheat made his point about how viewership is now diffused amongst various games, etc, and that stream numbers overall have risen.
If you're going to be pedantic, at least get it right.
Also, I think you understand the math, but its significance eludes you.

Everyone knew what would happen once they brought Destiny in on the call. Expecting some sort of clear, concise discussion from such opinionated personalities is just silly and the same can be said about everyone who is up in arms about the episode. Whether you feel as though one person was right and another was wrong it was never going to come to the surface since everyone was too busy blowing up at each other.
Also Wheat I love you man but you're going to stroke out if you keep exploding like you did tonight. Not saying you're wrong or right but that vein was at critical mass.

Because by "everything" he wasnt referring exclusively to SC2? Please see my post about context.
Do you really think the man WHOSE MAIN POINT was "LoL IS GROWING AND SC2 IS DYING" is implying that ALL games/streams viewcounts are down?
If you really believe that Steven was arguing for viewership about other games... then there is nothing I can do to help you understand anything.
Congrats on using another quote out of context... you should be a journalist.

if it's seriously that much of a given, shouldn't the scene have imploded already when the viewer counts on the LoL S2 finals came in? if you're going to say it's gradual, not only does that contradict your all-or-nothing position that you generalize onto sponsors - the most profitable ad revenue or bust, right now! - you should point out the signs that indicate this beginning trend or previous models/phenomena that imitate it. please do not link to reddit at any point, thank you.
