ITG 27 is great, hearing djWheat explain "poison," "hacking," and other fun words to miniWheat is hilarious.

Keep up the good work Wheat, hopefully you'll have everyone together next week for some SC2 discussion. <3

The problem with inside the game is it doesn't do what it says on the tin.

"Day[9]'s Daily is a huge inspiration for the show. There's simply not enough content out there that is aiming to help gamers improve. Our goal is to provide another outlet for education while maintaining the same level of entertainment every OneMoreGame.tv show provides."

From which I gathered given the profession of 3 of the hosts that the show was supposed to be about helping Starcraft 2 players improve their ability to play Starcraft 2. So excuse me if I'm missing something but I don't understand how discussing tournament results or the state of the esports industry helps me to improve my PvZ match up. This is why I've stopped watching inside the game, it's essentially become a second rate state of the game, and i mean no disrespect by that but state of the game simply does what it does better. The amount of times I've been listening to SotG and heard Incontrol say "well it's just like i said earlier on inside the game" because the two shows have the exact same topics for discussion.

I'd love to have inside the game be a more educational, day9 daily-esque style analysis and tutorial show. I'm sure Incontrol, idra and painuser have plenty of great insight and analysis to share and with Dj wheat hosting I'm also sure it would be entertaining. I'd love to see you just talk about a match you've seen in a real level of depth, like what the players did right, what they did wrong what you would of done in that situation etc or if that's too specific just talk about a match up and how it functions in the current metgame. I'm willing to bet a shiny penny that i'm not the only wone who would want to watch this kind of content every week so please guys take a look at the at the original idea behind the inside the game and give us some more of that style of content!

GosuCoachings podcast was probably closer to what you're looking for. They're pretty out of date now and they stopped doing them but they're still kind of interesting.

Thanks, never seen those before. I still think there's room for inside the game in the educational starcraft 2 content market.

I think this was the original intent, but we (the audience as a whole) are the ones who call in and ask about drama. Every week there are ~2-4 calls about playing the game. Almost everything else is something peripheral. If you want there to be more in-game related content, call in and ask those questions I've never seen them give anything but thorough responses.

True but they also spend the first hour of the show discussing the weekly drama or stirring one up. Surely I can't be the only one interested in starcraft 2 educational content. I mean the day9 daily is good but I'd also like to hear more of the opinion of the pros/casters on what they think about matchups and strategies.

the problem is that there isn't a lot to talk about on that front. There is not a lot of new metagame or strategy. Sure, they could re-hash textbook sc2 stuff that everyone should know, have idra talk about how to defend 2rax or incontrol talk about 6gate variations, but it wouldn't be anything that hasn't been done to death elsewhere, right?

I too wish there was a magical show that provided me all the answers, but honestly the best way to get better at SC2 is to turn off your TV and play the damn game.

This is exactly why I started watching the show and why I stopped. They stopped talking about strategy and started talking about drama BS. Yes SotG does that better. But SotG also (occasionally) has real pro level conversation about strategy (usually only by accident). Recently there was a long talk with Artosis trying to defend Mech in TvP vs iNc and Tyler. That was actually interesting. Eventually JP cuts this sort of thing off to get back to the 'real show'.

I completely agree. Too many tournament /drama shows, not enough meaningful content. It's not hard. Just pick a decent TL strategy forum topic and talk about it. Even explaining in detail why the posters strategy is terrible could be very insightful.

i'm glad people are starting to voice this concern more often. i continue to watch the show every week but it becomes less interesting every time because it degenerates into talking about casting and how to get better at casting and why X caster is better than Y caster, or why this tournament sucked at accommodating the players.

what i really want to hear about is recent tournament results and what players are playing smart and what makes their play smart. ITG has access to a cast of extremely high level players and it's a powerful resource at their disposal and one of the reasons why we watch, however there is minimal to no strategy talk, especially in the last three episodes.
