~3800 masters last season
I'd say mechanics and just learning how to read your opponent are the most important for just 'getting' into masters, to climb higher you need to work on execution etc

Anyway OP, I spend about 60-90 minutes on weekdays and maybe a couple hours on weekends playing. Not this weekend tho cause im at my parents' house for easter^^ I guess most people in Masters get in Masters by just outplaying people in a macro game? bahahahaha don't be so hilarious. I'm not being "hilarious" - this is exactly what happens; either macro games or shorter games that end with a powerful 1 base push. Either your definition of "cheese" is way too broad, or you are not in master's league.

I don't find this to be accurate in the slightest. I guess I inflated my %, it's more like 70%, my bad. I agree with Chill, I've been 6pooled/proxied twice since I reached master, where as in the lower leagues it's almost as common as in 2v2s. I suppose if you call 4gate cheese you get cheesed 33.3% of the time, if your a protoss player yourself.

The biggest 'secret' isn't being able to spend time to mass games, or crunch strategies, it's just being able to learn from your mistakes and analyze what you did wrong. If you can regularly and cleanly analyze and fix flaws in your play, you'll rank up way, way faster.

There are just alot of players who dont have alot of experience and thus lacking mechanics and alot of players from WoW/non rts games who simply dont get it yet,
