Zerus is the home planet of Zerg, where they're created by Xel'Naga. What do you think about come back to this planet, like we went back into Aiur in Protoss flash-back campaign ?
Zerus is an inhospitable planet wrought with severely unstable volcanic activity situated within the central regions of the Milky Way. It was the original home of the zerg and several species of resilient giant insectoid creatures. WIth little different landscape maybe? As example, planet is covered with tons of ash and smoke, but no lava or volcanic activity, like in Char.

what really annoys me is how blizzard is pushing the zerg to sound like a big group of insects. Other then larva they are not insects in any way shape or form. A zergling is like a dog with huge claws coming out of its shoulders, a hydra was like some plant eating mammal, a mutalisk was way more bat-like than insect-like (bats are considered rodents right?), Same with the old queen it was like an elephant/bat mix, ill give them the defiler but it would be odd not to include 1 insectoid type creature in an assimilation race
-as for your question haha, i diont see any need to go back to zerus the campaign is just about kerrigan getting her powers of the zerg

The zerg has abbandoned Zerus short after the Overmind was able to call the ancestors of the overlords, to assimilate them and leave the dead planet, since they assimilated everything there. I doubt that planet will have role in the story, afterall the zergs traveled in deep space for few decades, assimilating races left and right to find the counter to protoss.

If you see the leaked HOTS video is pretty clear thats what they are doing.

and most importantly they all have a distinct lack of fur and the suspiciously insect-like trait of having a protective carapace on their bodies (not something mammals typically have)

It looks pretty clear that they may just put that in because why else would there be information about it. HotS is going to be a really good game hopefully (i pray it willl be) The campaign should be much more fun and entertaining than WoL

'course there'll probably be the Dark Voice controlling other Zerg so they can do ZvZ :p

They are manipulated, but by no means they are "good". I believe it was something like "the zerg will be set free, so only they will choose whether they are good or bad".
Maybe Kerrigan's minions can be good, maybe others can be bad. Just like Protosses and Terrans.

obviously their leaders (overmind, kerrigan) need to have motive for what they do and personally I don't think it's very interesting to have their motive be "LOLOLO KILL SHIT KK?"
on the other hand the motives should primarily be for the survival of the species or selfish to kerrigan/cerebrate etc.

which are all sc2 units except for drones which i forgot about....and it makes sense for drones to be insect like because of an insects unusual trait to be able to carry things heavier than their body weight thus the assimilation process. My point is in sc1 they were all different types of animals with really thick/hard skin

Zergs being evil.. depends if they're hungry or not.Imo Looking forward what Blizzard has to offer us in HotS.. hope something cool and different in Campaign.

The spoiler has info about the leaked ending to HOTS. + Show Spoiler +I don't know... but if that is true I can already see a Disney ending to Legacy of the Void where everyone is like "oh my gawd dark voice is going to pwn us" and then all the "good" zergs fly in and help out, and they win the battle... :-/
The leaked ending was incredibly disappointing for me. I could go on for way longer bitching about it, but I will leave it at that.

The zerg were made from the smallest insects by the Xel'naga on their home planet.
