I don't want something exactly the same as the TSL, but maybe some kind of transition video to go from the commentators into the game without having to see the loading screen or the pre-game lobby.

i know this has been discussed and its probably an unpopular position, but it really sucks that i can't watch the vods at all without paying for the season pass. i obviously can't see every single match live and for the vast vast majority of tournaments that isn't a problem, i can watch the vods (or even the replays in some cases). even in gsl i can watch game 1 for free on their site or i can watch it in low quality with no english commentary on sc2rep for free; in addition to this the season pass for gsl is less than half the price of the nasl.

i know for most of you $25 probably isn't a problem but money is really tight for me; i'm a poor working student etc. i am grateful that they are putting out content at all and i'm pretty happy with it so far and i look forward to the rest of the season, but yeah maybe a low quality/no audio/replay only/delayed release of the vods could be something you guys might consider.

Preview the content that you will be showing. "When Cheese Fails" was terrible, using stereotype jokes and rape jokes is just not funny. I am almost sure they didn't even watch the episode before it aired. Feature the real talented members of the SC2 community next time.

Also I can't believe you showed game 3 first. So so so bad, the one thing you can screw up in a post-production setup. Hire some real editors.

I read in an original NASL post a while back that they matches are going to be cast live from the replay that was played earlier.

I know due to scheduling (which I'm sure has proven to be more difficult than expected so far) it isn't possible for all matches to be cast live as they happen, but that live element is something that I just love about the GSL.

I'm sure that the grand finals of the NASL will be cast live, but another thing that I love about GSL is that we get a shot of the players in their booths with their reactions to what is happening. It gives me, as a fan, more a human perspective on the player.

TL;DR
I like to see the player while they're playing...

whatever you think of things so far, how is that a tip to help them improve?

if you just want to bitch make a blog.

from a casting point of view i think you guys need to really define your roles better. in the sen vs zenio game for example, you were both doing the whole play by play thing, talking about positioning and baneling control. then neither of you notice sen making a round of drones and when he loses a few later you are confused as to how they are still equal on econ.

in the pregame show i also think you both need to come prepared with some notes of what you want to talk about, incontrol had some long speach about some map all well and good, gretorps reply? "i agree".

i guess what im trying to say if that it really feels like 2 individual casters who happen to be watching the same game, rather than working as a team to get everything across to the viewer.

clearly you didnt read the thread, everything is cast LIVE. then the tape of the casting is edited and aired the next day.

you cant have live feed of the players playing because this is an online tournament. how exactly do you think they can deliver this? send tv crews around the world to get this? at least be reasonable with suggestions

The volume of the game sounds and game music does not seem like it's at the right level. GOMtv pretty much has the volume levels down pat, you guys should just do the same levels as them.

NASL is pretty awesome. Commentating is great. Games are fantastic, great play by the players. Gets better every time and it looks like that trend will continue. Minor difficulties seem blown out of proportion, it's been pretty solid in my opinion. Watching it for free is pretty much good enough for me.

If I were to suggest anything it would be to maintain a real variety in the content (Segments, logos, interview Q's, etc). Having episodes looking/ feeling completely different from one another isn't necessarily a bad thing and it adds something special to each separate episode as well as to each division. I feel that these divisions are where some of the best games will be played and having an episode format completely dedicated to them could make for even more intense matches.

But like I wrote earlier, pretty solid.

You guys are doing way too much all at once. Interviews, intermissions, etc etc. Try to get your casts to be as smooth and as high quality as the TSL first imo. Make sure you can do that smoothly and without hiccups. Then once you are comfortable with that, then begin adding the interviews intermission videos, etc etc

Also, the intermission with "when cheese fails" was god awful.

One thing I really do not like about the website: I have no idea if I am logged in or not when i am on the NASL.tv homepage. I have to go to justin.tv to have confirmation that I am indeed logged in. Also, it is unfortunate to have the standings listed on the homepage as it can spoil games I have not watched yet.

On another note, I think it would be in NASL's interest to stream the games live on two separate streams. One for paying users, the other for non-paying users. It would make me feel like I'm getting my money's worth.

Additionally, it is critical to get VOD's uploaded promptly, easily accessible, and labeled correctly. Too many mistakes are made and it gives a sloppy impressive of the league.

1.) Observing is not up to standards
2.) Both commentators jump to ridiculous conclusions quite often that never come to fruition. Overall the commentating is pretty bad, Gretorp more so than iNcontrol
3.) As someone who paid for the pass for watching the VODs, that has ultimately been a waste of money because the site is not designed to be spoiler free and VODs seem to be missing for games that happened / were recorded 5 days ago.
4.) Stream has been ridiculously unstable. I'm not a genius when it comes to streaming, but how is it that I have problems watching the NASL stream on 480 without lag with 13k viewers, but can watch say Idra's stream which will get up to like 8k viewers and I can watch that on Best. Since the games are pre-recorded and pre-commentated (unlike TSL being pre-played, but casted live). Why does it need to be streamed? Why don't you just posted the VODs the day after so we can watch them?

My tip to the NASL?

If there really are only like 5 production people as incontrol stated, and they are perhaps overworked and not getting much sleep, and this is perhaps contributing to the varies production flaws that are being experienced... instead of advertising a $400,000 prize pool to garner more attention to an inferior production, use some of that money to hire more people and more professionally provide the tournament. I think we can all agree that seeing a top notch production is much more entertaining and will better grow esports than simply knowing that a player won more money.

Also, don't perma-IP ban people from chat with no explanation or route for seeking recourse. This has made me a little bitter considering I never said anything half as offensive as the trolls and racists who I see getting ten minute time outs...

My tips for NASL?

There're are too many games, too many players in too long time. I wish there're some kind of micro transaction so that I can buy VODs from a certain player that I want to watch. I really don't want to waste 25$ to watch too much content that I don't care about.
