People are whining about the inconsistency of the caster saying "we'll be going directly into match 4..." then a 5 minute intermission happens. The matches were recorded earlier, and then intermissions were included by popular demand and/or due to technical issues after the fact, so please just chill about these minor details.
criticism is needed and fine. i cant find much "hate" in this thread.
the mix of live and recordings is causing alot of problems right now (and some are plain hilarious).
fact is at the moment it isnt done well. and that people mention all of those problems is good since once you are on the "inside" you miss and forget tons of thingsthat are very obvious for the outside viewers.
outside of the caster bashing that occurs pretty much all complains ive seen so far are legit.
I feel like the show itself isn't really well-thought-out. There is this huge introduction of every player and every match-up and then you just string the matches together with not-optimal transitions ('We're going right into the next game' into 5 minute pause - though I don't even mind it that much). So then we get to see the first match and I can't even remember who is playing because you just introduced 10 players. It is confusing, not natural and there's is just no connection to the players.
wrote that before but i fully agree. i dont get the logic behind it and it doesnt work well. it might be because their recorced/live mix but its a suboptimal solution.
at the start you are bored and constantly think "god give me sc2" and between the games there is no talk about the game that just happened and the introduction for the game that immediatly starts was maybe 3 hours ago.
it just doesnt work well. imo one of the most basic faults of their show so far since i cant quite understand the thought behind it outside of maybe having it to do that way cause of technical stuff.

When I watch the stream live it is pretty laggy but watching the VODs is perfectly smooth so the problem is def not with the encoding. It's the stream. Is NASL's Internet connection that bad? Or is JTV at fault?

never had any problems with laggy stream

Assuming you tried everything in this thread, it may be a problem with your router but some problems are due to justin.tv.

Im pretty much happy with everything except the spoilers on the main page -.- I go to nasl.tv to search for vods and i see the results from yesterdays play, right in my face
Maybe im stupid, but how can this be a good idea XD

After watching day 2 all the way through, I have to agree with everyone saying you should talk about the players before each match begins. I was talking to a friend while watching the games who doesn't follow the scene, and right before TT1 vs Sjow he asked me who the players were and if it would be worth watching that game.
You should be working to give viewers a reason to stay for the next game. Running through all the games back to back feels odd, especially when you're trying to build a connection between the players and the fans.
Also, not that I mind, but weren't there supposed to be ads with the free stream? I know there are the regular justin.tv adds when you load the stream, but other than that I was pretty much ad free. I was expecting ads during their 5-10 minute intermissions at the least.

I think its a big issue that they don't produce it live. Its fine that they are doing the matches in advance, but things like screen overlays, intro graphics, and other on screen information needs to be available to the caster as it is recorded.

^^ I know what you mean, but these are just some suggestions as to how it should be run, the list is a bit ott but it is important that they get feedback.

You see the standings immediately when entering the webpage. That is one mother of a spoiler :S

Improve the stream, the European rebroadcast was extremely laggy.

Dont listen to them InGretorp! you guys are doing great. keep up the good work!

There is one big thing and it is AUDIO QUALITY. The video is absolutely gorgeous, but the sound seems to come from some clock radio speaker or something.
I don't know if this comes from cheap microphones or encoding, but the overall appearance could be improved a ton with better audio.
Also they might want to remove the on-screen menu tabs.
Everything else looks really crisp to me.

I think this is more a Teamliquid thing, but is it maybe possible that the european restream will be posted in the calendar as well? Would be very handy

I'm most likely being completely unrealistic here and it would be impossible to do this in the normal daily matches, I felt that part of the reason dreamhack was so awesome to watch was because you could hear the crowd, when something exciting happened the crowd got excited and it was infectous...
Dreamhack is obviously a tourney and completely different to the league setting but I remember that there's gonna be a tournament at the end of season or w/e? hoping that the audio quality is better and there's a crowd there xD.
just incase.. dont use fake crowd noises!!!
I don't really understand the fuss about the cast not sounding genuine? thought it was perfectly ok apart from the sound being a bit.. tinny? not really sure how to describe it.

i dunno what the stream problem is but for some reason i cant watch it without having lag spikes every minute even on the lowest res. however 2 days ago i had 2 top quality dreamhack streams open (at the same time) with no lag in 6 hours. i figured when i got premium id have less lag in the stream but no and its pretty much so bad i wont watch the stream again untill its fixed, i can watch vods so im pretty much just gonna do that.
on a side note diggity was better than i expected but i didint watch for long because of the stream lag.

2.- Very low framerate. The framerate is just bad, it's not fluid, specially when big battles occur.. i dont know if the stream was the same (i couldnt watch the stream live) but the VOD framerate needs to be improved
Seconded. The framerate on the vods is too low. I'd rather watch 720 with proper framerate than the 'fake' 1080.

Hmm... I'm pretty sure it was there yesterday, weird.

Is this one of the caster that is doing the observing ? If so, I'd suggest using the same setup as GSL (2 casters + 1 obs), where none of the casters have to care about moving the camera, and thus can focus on what's happening ingame.
