Can you provide some translations that would allow non-Chinese speakers to see why Blizzard did a good job localizing?

Well, you mean their dialogue? I think it is a big project, but I will try. I never hear the English version of dubbing before, so I will translate them according my understandings

Why are these sounds different from the ones in the Taiwanese client? I don't speak Chinese, but I notice that some of the unit responses are similar but somewhat different than the ones from the Taiwan sound pack.

LOL that archon line where he was like 1... + 1.... =.... 1 Did they come up with new lines completely??

You got the point, the Chinese version (more exactly speaking, the mainland version) is different from Taiwanese Client. Neither character nor dubbing is the same.

haha man that is so awesome. I gotta take some time now to click each unit 5 times or whatever to hear the entire dialogue. It gets pretty funny after the first 3 standard lines you hear while actually playing normally.

Leeto i thought the same thing,
i use the Taiwanese sound pack to play and a lot of the units say a couple of the same phrases. (Being able to understand Mandarin and speak at a fluent level) but it sounds likes a different voice actor also it seems like they added in a couple new phrases or translated them differently from the English ones. But im not very familiar with all of the English phrase so i could be wrong.

Well, I think it comes from the archon, that means that you can combine a high tempar with a dark tempar and then an archon appears.

This is awesome and I want to buy it.
1. Is there anywhere online I can buy it and ship it to California?
2. Would I be able to install and play it?
3. Could I use it for NA server or what?

1. here is a URL for you, the DVD of Simply Chinese version of SC2 has casted into the market, the price is RMB 9.9, that is to say, less than 2 US Dollar, http://s.163.com/11/0321/16/6VMEC3M800314D0E.html
You can either download it from the internet. http://s.163.com/11/0316/17/6V9L5TTP00314D0E.html The original version of the game 1.0.0, you need to update it to 1.3 the latest version.
2. You can install and play, of course.
3. I don't know, but you can have a try.

E...I forgot it. In fact the 9.9 is the price of DVD, bisides that, you need to pay RMB 20/month in order to play with others.

These new Chinese voices and lines are genius, and they have a ton of character. I'm really digging the videos of them. Too bad my Chinese sucks despite being ethnically Chinese

I usually can't tell the difference between mainland Mandarin and Taiwanese Mandarin, though I heard that there are a few subtle differences in accents. Cool to see Blizzard completely redoing the voices instead of just copying and pasting the voices from the Taiwanese version, though I personally would not hear a difference (though my Mandarin sucks lol).

so in other words u'd have to play for 2 years before blizzard recovers the value, that's pretty interesting.
