Your mouse sensitivity in Windows is probably different to sensitivity in SC2 and accuracy highly depends on familiarity to settings. (Especially evident in the case of FPS players with extremely fine-tuned mouse accuracy, who start missing flickshots when their sensitivity changes by even 10%) It's quite easy to set up your mouse speed of desktop to be the same as SC2; 51-54%. Mine directly feels very close to being 1:1, if not exactly, to SC2. And a person who has decent mouse control can adapt to different sensitivities also, I've had 400k+ with 2 completely different speeds.

I'm an FPS player, similar in relative skill to what you would consider a A-class player in SC2. I notice my mouse accuracy drops noticeably the first few sessions if I have not played the game for some days, even though I have used the same sensitivity for years. If I change my sensitivity by 10% the consistency and accuracy for quick movements is reduced considerably for perhaps a few weeks. It's not like I suddenly miss half the time I would normally hit, but at very high levels of refinement, the difference between very quickly moving and stopping your mouse exactly where you want 60% of the time vs 50% of the time is huge. I imagine the same kind of effect exists in SC2, though I'm crap at it and can't say for certain. Also, you can set sensitivities similar, but I don't see why you would want to. In my case, my mouse sensitivity in games is low enough (to get precise and consistent movements) that it would be unnecessary and even annoying in daily usage of Windows.
