So where do you live? If you'd happen to live in Stockholm, I'm up for going to an internet café or so and play some games. There's nothing better than that to improve ones game I believe.

my best friends on bnet are people i met in sc1. we started a clan together and most of us are still around for sc2. known them for just about 8 years now :D occasionally we have mini get togethers were we drive across the US and Canada to meet. vent is probably the most important thing, but facebook, skype all help. I also have a ton of friends from another site since we are smaller and more tight knit + Show Spoiler +

. most recently we formed clan vile which is where hashe comes from and we've picked up a lot of amazing people :D wish i was more active so i could get to know them better, but we still talk on skype and run 1's occasionally.

I watch a lot of SC2 with my girl. Play 2v2 with her in platinum (yes, she's not THAT bad) - she knows how IdrA/inControl looks and knows saying "terran is op" makes me happy

meh i would love to play with some of my old good friends.... however SC2 bnet is anti social and divides us since we all are essentially to poor and cheap to buy more copies of sc2 to get on the same freaking region.

so we just sit around discussing it, and when we sit in the same room together, we laugh at how much bnet 2.0 sucks that we can sit next to each other and play SC2 and not be able to play with each other.

I got some of my friends too test it out but no one plays it that much :S.

I usually sit on skype with them playing SC2 while they play WoW, CoD, and HoN xd

Gosh sometimes i wish i had some friends screaming with me at things like the GSL finals or the Clash of the titans.. ^^

You obviously want them to be in the same town as you, so you can meet with them, have LAN parties, etc . This is what I did for my city - Chicago. Put them together.

Why don't you guys use the TL COMMUNITY SECTION to make REGIONAL threads for your town/urban area? I met tons of people this way. Make it organized, have people PM you their email because having their SC2 ID does no good when they're not online.

YOU!! Yes, right now, you, the guy who thinks there are no SC2 friends in your town, go to the search function, search for your town/area. Don't just search for "Sweden" - Sweden is big. Don't just search for "Ohio" - Ohio is big.

OF COURSE THERE ARE PLAYERS INTERESTED. Have a way to contact them, not TL PMs. "I'll check here from time to time" doesn't work. EMAIL is the best.

I did that a month ago. The thread had no relevant response (i searched for players from the whole state, not just the 80k people city). I used the search and entered the state - no result. I entered the city - i just found a post of someone liking the beer. I used google - no relevant pages on the first 3 pages. I went to german SC2 pages and did the same - no result.

There just aren't any SC2 players in this area, it seems.

Hey I knew that feeling of "not having anyone to share your pation with" luckily for me i was introduced to a league called valor, which is a league meant for low level players (diamond to bronze) that want to experiment starcraft in company and sort of a"competitive way" as teams are formed that play every weekend in a sort of "team league style".

Free coaching for more experiencde players is offered as well as the games being broadcasted by volunteers that will make you feel as if you were in a real hard core competition.

The second season is one week from starting and we are going to make an officla post anuncing it!

Hi Guys sorry if this question is dumb butis there any forum on tl or anywhere else where Clans are recruiting, groups are forming, practice partners etc....

i have a huge mmo background and i am the last one playing sc2 out of 5 guys which left aion with me... but i am soo used too hanging around on teamspeak...playing winning and losing together..(somehow..you get the idea)

i have kind of a hard days work and during the day i am looking soo forward too play sc2 when i come home.. but when i arrive i am too scared,, or i feel not comfortable enough..

but my friendlist is pretty empty and i would love too have clan like grouop of maybe 10-20 players..with teamspek or any other voice app... and practice with each other or little tournaments.... just to get into the right mood to rape ladder ^^...

anyways i fell kind of lost and would love too know at what place i have the biggest chance to find a group, clan, gilde etc..

I'm somewhat in the same boat. If you have an internet cafe, grab a friend and go down there for a few hours, start hanging out there a bit, you'll meet Starcraft players. I started with just me and one of my friends playing the game, and I now have about 6 or 7 people I know that are usually down for a few games. I also dug myself into the community of TL a little bit and met a few people that live near me, and we play a lot. I play a lot of Starcraft, and my friend who I started playing with now just watches tournaments and likes the game a lot, but he just doesn't have interest in playing.

I feel the SAME way! I live in fairly large city, called Seattle, and I have a decent amount of friends.

Yet NONE of them plays. Makes me feel lonely at times, and give up StarCraft, but something about this game just hits me, and motivates me to play, over and over again.

Ugg I'm in the exact same boat as OP. I have one good friend who was really into it with me, but his interests seem to be dieing with lack of success on the ladder and other games he's more interested in coming out. I haven't really gone to the internet that much, but also after watching the daily last night it has interested me into looking. I am looking for the same thing. Some people to hang out with on Skype who will understand what I'm talking about, instead of my gf just looking at me cross eyes or playing angry birds and not paying attention. Maybe some random KOTH's or even just custom games playing together with the common goal to improve not to crush each other.

I also have the problem, where, I come from a heavy FPS background. So most of my high school friends/online friends were also from a similar background. So, to say the least, they are not interested in a "slower" paced game like SC.

I actually got quite a few people into watching starcraft, the problem is they just won't play. Then again I haven't played a lot either so maybe they picked it up from me :/
