It's simple. Get together with your friends and don't be afraid to demonstrate your genuine passion and excitement. It's contagious. I would always watch dailies and the GSL, and eventually they would watch with me. Shortly after they would get just as excited.

You obviously want them to be in the same town as you, so you can meet with them, have LAN parties, etc . This is what I did for my city - Chicago. Put them together. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=178194 Why don't you guys use the TL COMMUNITY SECTION to make REGIONAL threads for your town/urban area? I met tons of people this way. Make it organized, have people PM you their email because having their SC2 ID does no good when they're not online. YOU!! Yes, right now, you, the guy who thinks there are no SC2 friends in your town, go to the search function, search for your town/area. Don't just search for "Sweden" - Sweden is big. Don't just search for "Ohio" - Ohio is big. If there is no thread in the TL community section about your city, MAKE ONE, but don't do what these guys did. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=161450 or http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=168119 or http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=124304 or http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=199857 or http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=161205 (one where no one really took initiative) What's the point of asking "I'm just curious to see how many StarCraft 2 players actually live in the <insert location> area.." OF COURSE THERE ARE PLAYERS INTERESTED. Have a way to contact them, not TL PMs. "I'll check here from time to time" doesn't work. EMAIL is the best. Good luck. Just created a post for all nerds in Germany. Anyone who looks forward to meeting some local people pls check this out: Click me

I miss the wc3 style where they arent these little boxes ... allows for a greater sense of community.

It wasn't until SC2 came out did I start to play SC and become involved in the community. I kept talking it up to one of my mates at work and gave him the guest passes that you get with the game and he eventually succemmed ![]() If you can find 1 friend that will even listen to your talks about SC2 keep pestering them to watch VODS or the GSL and after a couple of week they too might get the game so you can play it together ![]()

I watch so much starcraft and I never really play because I don't have the motivation to hop on, used to ladder on a friends account and a few trial accounts because I have like an innate fear of losing or looking bad because anything I get into I give it my all and usually come out on top. Even though Ive come to peace that your going to lose alot in starcraft I have no motivation to get on because none of my buddy's are interested. Also still in a race crisis, im constantly changing my mind about what race I want to play and I have the knowledge of a high masters zerg and toss but of course that means nothing without the practice. Ive gotten to diamond when diamond was the highest league. tldr; id love to have friends bnet or rl that share my passion, and make me want to get on. every day i tell myself im going to get on my account and just ladder, but every time i get to that point im thinking about switching races so i watch streams all day and practice in custom games vs bots till im comfortable then the day i go to ladder im like hmm i should switch back...or how about terran...its just a vicious cycle and its killing me lol Holy run on sentences and wall of text lol. I'm just looking for people to play with that love the game, pm me if your interested in playing. I'm willing to play with anyone so hit me up. dAft.484 joeruland43@msn.com add me on msn/realid/whatever

![]() We were actually drawn to BW by our friends - back then they played every evening and they had so much fun together and they enjoyed it so much that we actually stopped playing HoMM and got BW, did the campaings and practiced hard so we could be at least remotely even with them and play together. And it indeed was a lot of fun, we would connect on skype and play in different combinations, do cheesy things and all that stuff. But we never really played BW any good - it is a heck of a difficult game, isn't it?. But we got SC2 shortly after launch and I got really into it, now I am ranked higher in 1v1 than these friends ![]() For me this "social" aspect of SC is really important. I do ladder 1v1 once in a while, but still my wife likes to watch me, I play quite rarely just alone and we discuss the games with friends and stuff.

I've got two friends IRL who are really into it. Everybody else either stopped playing or can't broach the gold league, and has no interest in teamliquid/vods.

It's driven me to messaging most people i play in the ladder asking if they want a practice partner just so i can develop some friends or at least people to chat to about SC2.

I kinda have the same problem. I had lot of friends who bought the game and were active at the early days of the release and we were quite good at it (diamond). I stopped 2 months later because it was too stressfull to play ladder. The season 2 makes me want to play again, and I don't know how but I manage to stay in diamond. The problem is that I don't want to play ladder and loose a lot of games, and my friends don't play anymore, or 1 game a week. It isn't fun at all. I want to progress and be in the top 25 master, so if there are people who wants to train with me, i'm up. I'm on eu server, from france, but I speak quite well english.
