Well for starters, you could play a race that's actually inferior to the other 2.

That might get the ball rolling in the right direction.

In times of PTR 1.2 actually Zerg was arguably better than the other 2. ZvP for sure was Zerg favoured. I remember playxp pool saying 75% thinks P needs a buff.


I hope you don't actually value that pool...
You realize its open to anyone (which means 98% non-masters league), and most of the people who vote on that are just whiners that have no logic behind their claims.. The QQ ranking really doesn't mean anything.

I'm so fucking pissed about the Protoss Nerf

MOTHERSHIP
Even with KiwiKaki using it and a lot of people starting to warm up to it, I never liked it. I still consider it to be the Arbiter's retarded slow cousin and not worth the name it has been given. The only saving grace and light at the end of the tunnel that gave me hope was the archon toilet which was 2 entirely separate tech path but made the mother ship actually live up to the whole "It-can-change-the-tide-of-war" shtick. Well not anymore. Whatever was remotely good about it is now gone.

Vortex is now almost useless and the only thing MS does other than look cool is take 400/400/8. Vortex now is an invitation for ppl to throw all their units in so that they dont lose their army, come back out after 15-20 sec and fight as if nothing happened.

And don't tell me Recall. Recall isnt worth that many resources

Protoss players mostly usually go for Colossus since its on the tech path with observers. Which made switching to HT a very expensive move but that was worth it at the end. Yes storm is great but the amulet was just as amazing. If it wasnt, it wouldve been like the speed upgrade for VRs. nobody would get it. but EVERY soul that goes HT knows how vital it is. now a HT that just warped is pretty much useless unless u wanna feedback something for the next 44 sec. 50/150 for a unit that rolls its thumbs for 44 second. What a sweet fucking deal there.

Storm is what we need and if the opponent is going mass MMM or hydra or Wtv unit that storms excels with, having to wait for it every time u get a HT killed or HT's that used one and are being morphed into archons, its absolute bullshit.

Don't tell me Ghosts/infestors can do this and that....Ghosts have nukes, cloaking, sniping and EMP which out ranges Storm anyway. Infestors have burrow moving, infested marines which they can spam to no end, neural parasite and fungal which got a nice buff.

I understand the changes from a pure balance point of view. No amulet to make Protoss weaker late game where they were so strong, stim research increase to make terran weaker early game where they are so strong, vortex being able to kill 200 supply worth of units in 1 sec was ridiculous, but I honestly expected so much more =\

Stim timing is a little weaker, but I just had so many more expectations about a Zerg buff besides increased infestor DPS which isn't even the point of the unit to begin with and they're nerfing it's utility -_-

patch changes just seem completely underwhelming and I made myself depressed by expecting more than this.
i was driving down the road this november eve and spotted a hitchhiker walking down the street. i pulled over and saw that it was only a tree. i uprooted it and put it in my trunk. do trees like marshmallow peeps? cause that's all i have and will have.

This patch is amazing. Removing the HT Amulet is the best balance change ever. I agree with the increase in stim research time, BC move speed and infestor boost. The only thing I am not sure about is the bunker nerf, I understand that they want to nerf offensive bunkering but it becomes harder to quickly build some bunkers in response to an incomming attack.

The interface and bnet changes are great as well.

So best patch ever

However, I do agree that complete removal of amulet upgrade is a bit extreme. I do think amulet as it is needs a nerf of some kind though, because once you do get the upgrade done, it is too powerful in both defense and offense. This was somewhat tolerable since Terran had the upper-hand in the early game (generally speaking), but since stim pack is nerfed, the strength of amulet HTs will be amplified compared to before.

As a Zerg player this patch is interesting. Infestor HP buff is really welcome. Fungal change made it more damage-oriented. I don't really mind that. Bio will melt. Remember that 2 fungals now deal about 94 dmg to marauders (used to be 36 dmg). That is HUGE. Requires double apm and of course more Infestors (which kinda sucks for the apm-race). On the other hand it fits the playstyle of "High apm, fast damage".

* An alert has been added when the Spawn Larva buff expires.

W00t, really nice. Those additions will benefit Zerg the most definitely.

T changes seem fair. BC buff is nice. Carriers and Broodlords should be faster too

Amulet change seems odd. That was actually the only +25 energy upgrade with real synergy as it allowed P to warp in + storm. Storm is strong, but requires skill to use.. this change won't widen the P arsenall for sure. Same for Mothership. Guess toilet was too good.

I think that happens because your Launcher is outdated. Try playing the live version and see if it updates, and try the test server again. If not, then delete the Test folder in your Starcraft II directory and try redownloading the PTR again.

I sort of understand the Amulet nerf but the Mothership doesn't make any sense to me at all. Blizzard should really just take the unit out of the game instead of just nerfing it into uselessness. What is the point of Vortex now? You throw down a vortex and your opponent just runs everything into it with no fear of being punished for that. In fact it may even be helpful if they are invulnerable but can still attack after it ends.

The amulet nerf just makes me sad because now PvT is just going to always be stalker/colossus vs bio/viking.

All you protoss whiners, the HT change was long awaited, and I even saw it coming ever since it was brought up in one of the threads with Servyoa mentioning it, regardless of me being Terran, the idea of throwing around storms like it was for free isn't going to be the case anymore, I don't understand why you're all QQing when you still have the mighty collosi and forcefields, seriously.

I dislike the amulet change. Maybe they could make it so that if you made HTS from regular gateways, they would spawn with enough energy for storm? It would give protoss another reason to chrono boost and it won't make regular gateways useless in the lategame.

I mean, 44 seconds. Geesh, thats as long as it takes for a spinecrawler to root. You'd have to be a psychic to deal with that.

Why would Stim nerf affect the strenght of amulet? Both come at completely different time. You have stim WAY before HTs are out.
im sorry but i dont think 400/400/8 + waiting for the energy to get to 100 + having ur army slowed down so that the fat MS can keep up justifies throwing off a position of a zerg in some situations.
As it stands, i rather use that energy on Recall. And the only reason i would think of using vortex is if Im running my MS away and its being followed
