lol well this patch just plain sucks. Is there going to be any pvt option other than colossus+stalker or colossus+phoenix late game?

No they're still going to bunker rush. 5 seconds will make it a little easier to stop..I guess...but it's still extremely cost effective...aka it doesn't cost anything.

I for one am looking forward to seeing what the change to the fungal growth duration and damage leads to. I feel like I only just got used to using it the way it is but now it seems like it will fill a completely different niche.

Just some thoughts on that particular note with no particular confidence:
Since it now does more damage against armored targets, I get the sense it was meant for making them a better support unit against things like colossi, seige tanks and the like, but it's duration is so short now, I'm skeptical that it will actually work that way. Is it still viable as a strategy for shorting a mineral line? What does this mean against a Terran or Zerg Bio-ball? I guess it's more powerful against marauder/stalker/roach, but it seems like that wasn't as critical a target since it can virtually wipe out the weaker units thanks to it's duration and "freeze" mechanic.

On an unrelated note: props to whoever it is on the Blizzard staff that realized that Control Group Buttons on the UI should have the option to be either unclickable or off altogether. I do this constantly and I hate losing to a mis-click like that (which has happened - believe me). Also, I like not having to see the menu buttons I've already disabled at the top of the screen. More screen, fewer buttons to accidentally press - fewer mis-clicks, more uninterrupted game time. Thanks to all involved.

Maybe HT nerf is to encourage gettings HTs for archons more instead of only storm. Too bad archons aren't that great.

I doubt archons were ever meant to be a unit you actually get. 300 gas for a melee unit that only tanks for a few seconds is quite expensive. Archons are just a throw away unit.

I don't know how I feel about the fungal change...

HT nerf was not the right way to go. Collosi are even more of a no-brainer now.

Okay, I'm on Mac and never got in on the 1.2 PTR because I couldn't figure out where the file was either on my computer or where I had to download it can anyone please help me? Also are there any new maps on this patch?

there are so many terrans everywhere, tvts all day long in latter tournament stages, but i didn't see
any REAL terran nerfs?

Protoss gets hits the most since beta, zergs gets some small buffs here and there, but are still mostly terrible, and terran gets build time reduce nerfs?

It's not like zerg have many late game options vs toss. You get roach-hydra-corrupter into broodlords. Name me another composition that actually works. Where is the outcry about that?

Battleship got the speed upgrade and mothership didnt. Will be interesting to see what changes get through. At least the zerg ones made some sense. Instant cast fungals pretty bullshit

And Marines being the counter to Banelings isn't bullshit... You are definitely a Terran player if you think Fungal needed reworking. The only useful thing about Fungal was the fact that it actually made your Banelings somewhat cost-effective.

Nerf on mothership and ht is the BEST!!! but reduce fungal growth duration?? that would make fungal growth more of an aoe damage type skill instead of a lock skill....

Can anyone explain to me how is fungal changed exactly. Is total damage still same but done over 4s or did they halve the damage with this?
This 30% damage bonus, does it mean it does 8 damage/s to armored and 6/s to others or it still does same damage to all but armored units under fungal receive 30% damage from all attacks?

I'm shocked they didn't buff corruptors. It seems like the huge balance issue in the game right now is pvz colossus deathball, not pvt templars. I think maybe blizzard really does play terran.

Apparently Dayvie was on minigun's stream and stated that they might be removing the amulet upgrade, because on the newer gsl maps, templar warp in and storm can completely clear out a mineral line, and that made them powerful.

Maybe some one can dig that convo up from miniguns stream videos..
