Before you post, read the title of this thread slowly and out loud. |

Not a problem, as long as they can play at the match times.

A team is a recognized entity that has players playing under a single banner, has a website, has the ability to support their player(s) to attend an offline final in Los Angeles should the player advance that far. As for your second question, that's up for teams to determine.
@Insurrectionist : you basically answered your own question in your post!

I'm back to work, but I will be answering more questions when I take a break. GL!

Thanks for the quick Q&A!

When you say you'll be casting live, will there be a delay of some kind to help curb cheating? What about maphacking?

Will there be the possibility of a team league like GSTL but NASTL?
*Edited out same question as above.
|
Q: What is the format of the league? (round robin, double elim, points, etc)
5 games per night, 5 nights per week, & 9 weeks per season equates to 225 games per regular season... I'm having a tough time figuring out how you get from 50 players to 15 in 225 games.... Thx! :D

2) What methods will be used to prevent cheating? (especially online such as preventing players from watching stream while playing, etc)
- GosuCoaching Premiere League
- Stream delay.

Question again: What prompted the decision to create a set of standardized penalties for being bad mannered? I understand giving players penalties for issues impacting the viewers or organisers like being late, however as long as it's not taken to excessive levels (swearing/drawing out games to a ridiculous extent) players BMing seems excellent at giving viewers a feel for players personalities, as well as a way for you to frame storylines like you've said you intend to. One big problem many people have vocalized about the GSL is that most of the koreans come off as boring due to the lack of conflict, and there's little doubt players like Idra and Naniwa have gained a lot of recognition for their acts of BM. In a scale from "KeSPA-level strict" to "as long as they don't threaten eachother it's fine", where do you see the NASL?

The thing is played at a LAN, so I really don't think you could possibly get away with cheating.
Maybe in the qualifiers, but that's just a qualifier, like any other online tournaments. There would most likely be a delay.

I have a question -- Is there anything Xeris CANT do?
|
Question 1: Who are your sponsors? I don't see this league lasting for very long without a legitimate revenue model.
Question 2: Who is the poor guy fronting all of this cash?
|
Question : How will player profile will be utilized. I have read in iNControl's interview that it was an important thing for you to create backstory. How will it be presented, before the match the casters will read and present players, their accomplishement and such?
Will a database or so exist where I can have acess to information on the players?
|
Are you planning on increasing the amount of open slots in the future or reworking hte open qualifier at all? One gigantic tournament seems to be very very sub optimal to running open tournaments while one season is running for the next or some system like that.
Especially with the odd number of 50 players in the league why not run 7 open tournaments and take 2 from each with a smaller max player list. Can run those during the first season and they gain qualification for the next season so maybe you can have league stages with a more even number like 64 or something. The current way seems to be a suboptimal way of bringing in open qualification.

NASL is gearing up to be great, I really hope you do well.
Question: Will the camera cut to casters during the actual games? One of the reasons I think this works during the GSL is because of the large crowd and atmosphere surrounding the casters, I think this would be a great idea to show the players, crowd signs and crowd in the Ro16, but I'm not sure showing a shot of casters concentrating on the screen for 10-15 seconds every game is justifiable in preliminaries.
I will defiantly be supporting you and purchasing a ticket, this is a massive leap for e-sports, I can't wait.

I really hope my chances are good enough to participate in this. I'm practicing hard to be an outstanding player.
|
Q: what are the requirements to play in the open tourney? do you have to be a known pro player, or will it be based on ladder rank?
|

What is the idea behind the decision to limit how many players on a team that can participate? We want to try to create as even a playing field as possible for teams. This is why we have allocated a maximum of 5. Some teams are not big enough to field five players, but we feel that it's a good idea to have a max of five to get as much diversity as possible.
edit: that wasn't a question I guess

will we have to pay for vods like gsl?

Why not start with only star players for the first season and then in the next have up & down matches? i believe it's fait and also brings the star power everybody loves!
It's better to see famous players get out because they lose to a noname then put a noname and when he loses people will flame because he obviously wasn't good enought.. People will always whine because it's never like you hope or want it to be so it's best to put players that deserve it and have fans then the other way around.. don't forget in online competions lots of upsets could happen and we might start a 50 player league with 10 guys no one have heard about..
New players should have oportunities but only if they deserve them.. not just because they got lucky and win a open!
my 2 cents anyways
