The GCPL is being sponsored by Malice in Wonderland! This brings our prize pool up to a grand total of $10,000. The action will only get more intense as the weeks draw onward as the stakes have been raised, making the GCPL the largest team event ever for SC2

The GosuCoaching Premiere League is and was the most prestigious team event in the history of Starcraft 2 so far. We at GosuCoaching aimed to create the excitement and notoriety of the proleague for non Korean teams. We brought the best teams and the biggest prize, and saw some amazing matches.

8 teams participated in the league, which began January 12th, 2011 and ended March 20th, 2011. 7 teams have been invited and one team was chosen from a qualifying tournament. You can read the post on GosuCoaching.com for all the info!

The Prizes:
1st. $7,000
2nd. $2,000
3rd. $500

GCPL Grand Finals

FnaticMSI took on Dignitas in the Grand Finals of GCPL Season 1. Dignitas was dominant throughout the season, while FnaticMSI struggled a lot early on, barely scratching their way into the playoffs. In the Semi Finals, FnaticMSI came into top form by dominating Team Liquid, who finished 1st in the regular season. Dignitas on the other hand, got taken to the brink by EG, with Naniwa coming up big against IdrA in the ace.

The Grand Finals was an epic showdown, with FnaticMSI taking a quick 2-0 lead. Dignitas countered by taking the next two matches to force an ACE. Naniwa was up against another power house Zerg, Sen. In an absolutely incredible series, Sen managed to take the series with a 3-2 score and secure the Championship for FnaticMSI!

If the eighth team isn't either a korean pro team or nrg, I will be absolutely floored.

Didn't they just get assimilated into complexity?

EDIT: On second thought I may be forgetting some teams, but nrg is still one of the top candidates imo

Is the 8th team going to just be picked by the application alone? Would prefer some sort of qualifier tournament as there are a few teams that are worthy of the spot. Either way, excited for this!

No that was Nova and only 1 player from vvv went there from what I know unless others got an invite

Also yeah NRG also. I'm surprised VT was picked over one of those two especially considering NRG has been dominating lots of clans lately and vvv just won the SCL and I dunno what VT has done lately in terms of clan wars.

This sounds like a pretty great league! I'd be surprised if the last team isn't vVv, or NrG. But coL wouldn't be a bad choice either =D

Same.. Its starting to feel like if you werent in the sc:bw "circle of top players", youre left behind in sc2. NrG should be up there easily. VT does not deserve it.

And also, it feels like the EG tag is pulling more then the players are for their team. None the less, tournament should be fun to watch.

It's probably because vT is a more distinguished team than NrG and vVv. I didn't even know vVv had a SC2 team O_O I thought they were just sponsoring second rate halo teams.

Looks like a good league though, cant wait to see the results... (even though it will be between ROOT and Liquid)

Oh and to say the EG tag is pulling more than the players are is pretty stupid, and plus GosuCoaching is run by EG's core members.. so I don't see why the hate against them for trying to help.

Millenium should really have an invite to this, or attax, or other prominent multi gaming organizations. Not to slam NrG or vVv, from an american standpoint they deserve to go, but the teams i mentioned are actually famous outside of sc2, like most of the other teams invited.

this would be nice, lots of teams are out there right now trying to make a name for themselves that have it in them to knock out some of the reputable teams that didn't get invited.

Only 1 other good team played in SCL (EG), and with the format of those clanwars it's not like the best team wins every time, so in my opinion winning SCL isn't such a huge accomplishment.

When I look at vVv lineup I see, Rigid as the only notable name, and Murder who hasn't played anything since the summer. VT's got strong players such as Spades and bLuR who are competing/placing well in many events.

There are several teams I think could be in here, so I'm leaving it up to them to sway me

FXO hasn't done much since they just started but they have arguably the better lineup between them, vVv and coL

Millenium, RoX, FXO, aTn, mTw (altho I think they only have 3 players so wouldn't qualify), NrG, ESC ... all good teams.

And, a qualifying tournament would be cute but no time for that ~_~

This is global right? (except korea) so how about atn or mtw? both of those teams have a lot of good players.
