ToD talks about the game, his future plans and more in this interview with GOM TV: http://www.gomtv.net/2011gstl1/forum/60911
Excerpt:
![[image loading]](http://img.gomtv.net/img/Todd.jpg) Yoan 'ToD' Merlo has returned to the pro-gaming scene. He has picked up SC2 about 3 months ago and is already proving himself to be one tough Protoss player. ToD is currently in Team Millenium and the day for ToD to claim the position of a top Protoss player in addition to his previous status as a top Human player from WC3 seems near. In this interview with GOM TV, ToD talks about the game, his future plans and more. [What have you been up to ever since retiring from WC3 and before switching to SC2? What is your current typical day like as a pro-gamer? (Question by user "sc2lime")] "After retiring from WarCraft3 pro-gaming, I did a ton of sports, mostly ping-pong, working out, and a lot of football. But after a knee injury I basically had to stop all of it. So I had all my time to spend in front of the computer once again! My typical day after waking up would be playing some SC2 although I used to never do this before as I thought it's too hard to play well in the morning (I saw in some interview of a Korean coach that he said his players focus better in the morning so I wanted to see it for myself). After a few games I eat, shower and play more. Then I eat again, play more and go to sleep. Since I started playing about 3 months ago I take a lot of time to study the game as well by watching replays and GSL VODs, and reading TL etc. I believe it helps learning the game faster." ...

just wondering (sorry for being off topic about this) but, is it possible for the observer to sometimes go and press 1 or 2 to see what the progamer/player is currently looking at certain critical parts?
Mainly cause I've been seeing the Brood War vod's of the Proleagues and they sometimes show at parts the ingame view of the player (some of them go split screen it, but I'm mainly asking about the function already in SC2 to show the player cameras)?
I would just find it quite interesting to watch parts of the game in their point of view sometimes
though maybe not, but I'd think it'll be interesting to experiment with and try out....>_>
now... on topic: nice interview, can you also do more interviews like this (possibly to other progamers.... both non koreans and koreans? :D

You need to post this type of comments/suggestions on GOMtv.net. Would love to come and check TL 24/7 but sadly cannot.

No offense Gomtv, but TL feels more homie. haha.
I'll definitely try to post more on gomtv though. It would be awesome if somehow TL and Gomtv integrate threads. For example, Look at the [GSTL] thread or all [GSL] related live threads. So much more interaction and excitement then the gom chat.
|
Nice interview!
Although my question was credited to someone else lol.
[What have you been up to ever since retiring from WC3 and before switching to SC2? What is your current typical day like as a pro-gamer? (Question by user "Tellon")]
That is actually from me as seen in this GOM thread http://www.gomtv.net/2011gstl1/forum/60887
Anyway, still the biggest ToD fan!

This is a battle ground. You should never feel relaxed!
Btw any suggestions for the next interview (the strucuture, players to interview and etc) would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if it is ever possible, that Artosis get support from GOM to do some sort of video interviews not only from foreign players but also from Koreans. Just to maybe talk about the state of the game or just how they feel about their GSL matches so far. I know this is already done after each GSL wins but I feel that there aren't enough time during the GSL and that Artosis asks much better questions than the ones you get from forum posts. Plus, Artosis is already doing a lot to spread the word about Starcraft 2 and the GSL that some sort of backing from GOM (translator, helping with scheduling interviews with progamers, etc) would be very much appreciated.

I'm big fan of ToD, not only did he stick it out in Korea for a long time even after his teammates left, but he also stuck with Human despite their blatant weaknesses in WC3. It's a shame he didn't go Terran. He is a bit of a whiner at times like Idra.

i remember how tod always complained it was too hot in player booths. he even refused to play in some tournaments if they didn't have proper cooling. i think he claimed asians handle heat better heh.

Nice interview I look forward to future development.
John: Pick some more awesome names for Artosis to say live, hearing him laugh when he says names that catch him off guard is great.

Cocoshoo's comics are so much fun to read ))) I love it!
oh and the interview is also great. Great to see ToD back in the progaming scene. I'm sure he'll do very good since his multitasking in wc3 was very nice from what I've seen back in the days :D

I really like ToD, such a great guy. I'm so happy to see him active in Sc2, I hope he will do well in the future.

Good job GOM on that GSTL. It was really really good, and most people agree that it was a fantastic league. Will there be another one after the next GSL ? We would love to see some more !
Also, good job on getting picked up on for cable TV. SC2 is doing good
|
Thanks for sharing all of this stuff with us!
|
ToD was my idol in wc3, and I've used essentially the exact same unit group setup that he used in wc3 and carried it over to SC. I really hope he does well in the future, and I will certainly be rooting for him!~
|
Good job, mysterious GOMTV person! Nice interview.
I hope to see more games played on the new GSL maps and expanded GSTL format. Oh and please thanks the technician for fixing gom stream, I can watch the games again now.

I would like to see an interview with Julyzerg. He started out not too well the first season he played. But now he got bumped into Code S and would like to know how he feels about that and if he thinks he can win against players like IMMVP/oGsMC. Also want to know if he thinks zerg is UP just like every other professional zerg.

If it's not John or Jay... is it Torch? After that, I don't think we know any names of the people that work there.

I usually work in the shadows. If you really want to know, my name is mentioned in one of the 'Notices' on GOMtv.net forum. Nyehehe.
