EPTSo.. if it were possible to block it, the game would be more fun, and there would probably be a slight advantage in removing the distraction too - especially if he doesn't know he's blocked and keeps mouthing off.

Disabling opponent chat totally would also remove useful messsages, like questions for pause. | ||

edit: or blizzard can implement the option to turn off chatting in game in the gameplay options menu for those of us grinding the ladder and not wanting to chat/having to manually turn off chat every few games. | ||

It's kind of like graphics settings. I might get a slight advantage by playing on low, but I play on ultra because it looks nicer and therefore makes the game more enjoyable. And honestly, unless someone's paying you to play, isn't that the point? Edit: Most of the time I enjoy having chat. I always gl hf and gg, and will take a minute to chat at the end of a game I've lost if the opp is friendly and there was something interesting to talk about or congratulate them on. But if they're just going to BM constantly, I'd just as soon have a way to turn it off.
