reapers still do ~18 dmg per second against light ppl

Umm.... theres usually 2 gates for a few zealots and stalkers....
If i'm correct nony popularize this build vs zerg in the beta.... so it can win the game.. (with some gateway units)

Maybe instead of Fungal locking down flying units it can just slow them down, similar to ensnare in bw.

I'm ready for some chat channels though. Looking like a pretty cool patch, can't wait until we see the final notes!

I'm always one pushing for DRAMATIC changes and this is pretty close, especially with the influx of air based builds in Korea. Can't wait to see how it pans out. Also of note: it's really hard to talk about balance so early and not look silly later on. Anyone remember when pure mech was the most OP thing ever in TvZ? You know what changed? Not a patch but a new technique in muta micro. Remember when Terran was nigh unbeatable yet still a zerg managed to win the BIGGEST TOURNAMENT IN THE WORLD? What happened? Player skill. So we really need to wait to see if anything is a problem at all.

Just follow July Zerg and make corruptors. They shut down phoenixes reasonably well, and stop the transition into colossus.

In theory a full stack of corruptors can't kill a single phoenix. Speed, y'know. That's what annoys me at least, a good protoss harassing in the midgame had to be aware of infestors, thus actually play carefully when using them. Now he can just run in, kill a few drones and run out without a problem. I mean.. there should be some risk attached to every harassment strategy.

Maybe it is the way Phoenix meant to be. I dont know if you played BW or not, but Phoenix is a replacement for Corsair which give Protoss air superiority in early-mid game. Phoenix is a unit designed to make their oppoent annoyed so I dont think you can comment on that :D
EDIT: And there is of course some risks for Protoss to over produce Phoenix as well. If Protoss make to much Phoenix they will lack ground unit in which Zerg player can emphasize on


well i do agree that phoenix is like corsairs in BW, but i dont see how corsairs can harrass mineral line drones, or units.. basically this made P easier to rush to phoenix, and u see how a mass fleet of phoenix and stalkers could own almost all kind of Z's army composition..

I like everything about this patch except for the fungal change. Hopefully that gets cut before this goes live.

That is a really good suggestion. 20 phoenix shouldn't die because of one fungal, nor should they be invincible. Nice compromise.
