It means that workers can't go through enemy units by clicking a mineral patch. Which is great for P wall offs which usually leave a spot open for a zealot to block. That was possible before this patch, it isn't after. (P buff)


I thought it might mean that before I posted, but that seemed such a bad way to phrase it I figured that couldn't be it. They didn't "avoid" enemy units. They passed through them.

The "easy time" zerg is having is clearly overexemplified. People just say that because they've won two GSLs. Otherwise everything is pretty much balanced... There have been plenty of macro games where a T or P has won... The easy time they've been having is not because of fungal growth.
I asked my friend how the ratio at a party was, he replied. "Let's just say for every guy there was two dudes."

Like mutas but a lot faster. A good P will in general not graviton when there are 4 hydras on the way, unless he has enough to one shot drones. I'm not talking about overly aggressive stupid usage of phoenix, but they'll be extremely hard to deal with now.

Hydras are far too slow to be viable left at base works I suppose, but you need quite a few as you can pick up hydras. Mutas? Well, speaks for itself. Infestor was the golden unit when P went for a lot of phoenixes and rewarded the Z for playing well and made using phoenix risky when harassing.

Now it's just "go in kill free stuff". Of course, phoenix won't be a unit that's be all end all, but there's literally no good way of stopping phoenixes mid-late game now. I don't like the idea of unstoppable harass, meh.

If only spores weren't ballsack retarded.

This confused me at first too, I think this is about team games where your teammate leaves but you can control his units. The person giving orders to the units has to pay for whatever they build or repair, I guess autocast repairs for the other players SCVs were free before.

Phoenixes are much faster than mutas, and Protoss has the option of using Phoenix to outrun the mutas, stalkers to blink after them, or storm for tons of AoE damage. Now Zerg has...the slower Hydras, the slower Queens, and the slower Corrupters/mutas.


well they are faster but they are not MUCH faster. it's the same basic shit as mutas. they aren't exactly the toughest units as far as hp goes. it will definitely be harder to stop them. but u say impossible, which is hilarious. sure it will be impossible if ur opponent NEVER DOES ANYTHING WITH THEM

i love how vyyyye also says they are "a lot faster" than mutas as well. what do u guys think "a lot faster" means? ur just used to nothing being able to chase mutas down, they aren't that much faster.

Phoenixes and Mutas have the exact same speed I thought, it's just that Phoenixes can kite.

Harvesting units not avoiding enemies is really gonna be annoying. Gonna be a lot harder keeping the scout probe alive without slipping out of surrounds and stuff..

Yeah this is another missing element I haven't seen much talk about, but miss greatly. That and an option to allow ALLTALK on mic when in game, so parties of friends aren't forced to only mic talk with their allies.

I'm going to have to assume the fungal thing is something they've not gotten around to taking out of the patch. I mean.. why the heck would you make that change, zerg doesn't have to counter specifically enough yet for them or what?

Rest of it seems fairly reasonable, though I weep for the poor confused ultra and they seem to have mistakenly decreased some times for Protoss. I'm sure they'll fix that as well though? It's a patch after all!

Edit: Oh I just noticed the larva thing. I'd better stock up on Red Bull or something.. sigh..

there's a lot that i like here. the various protoss buffs, the ultralisk damage radius being recentered (was it seriously at the center of the ultralisk? that was retarded), the even creep sprad is nice, and now terrans have to actually pay for autorepair. oh, and chat channels of course.

but i do have one big problem. removing fungal on air? that's so insanely stupid. the ability to fungal air units is what keeps zvz from being the horrible muta/ling fest that it was in brood war. now it's going right back to that. and what about using fungal growth to stop drops? argh, this is terrible. but what i like is that this is a test region. if any of these balance changes get overwhelmingly negative feedback, the don't have to be implemented in the game, and can save players from losing a lot of points that the don't deserve to.

also, i'm surprised they haven't changed colossi being able to walk down into restricted terrain if the area around the robo facility is walled off. i suppose they figured that it's just such a stupid strategy that it will never actually be used in a real game.

oh, and one more thing... "Harvesting units no longer avoid enemy units". does this mean you can't mineral walk to safety if the opponent surrounds your scout with his workers? that's a shame. i thought mineral walking was really cool.

Wow did not see the infestor fungal change coming, this is huge.

ZvP- Can't hold phoenixes for mutas to catch up.
ZvT- Dropship harasses much harder to stop with Infestors, Can't uncloak / hold Banshees either =(
ZvZ- Probably the biggest change Roach, Hydra, Infestor wont hard counter mutas any more =(

I would be fine with this change if zerg had other options for countering air / drops guess we'll have to see how this plays out and hope for the best.
