Sounds like it's going to be awesome. Glad it will be streamed!

Google chrome is not the best at translating Korean, so hoping for a better translation of the article soon, cause this sounds really interesting. Something to do while waiting for season 3! Actually I don't know when season 3 starts, but I think it takes like 10 days between seasons.
Any other big names showing up? Where is Busan? And what is GSTAR?

Cool, what exactly is the GSTAR convention?

Busan is a large port city in the southeast of the country.

Anyway excellent news about the tourney. I hope it'll be full of thrills.

GSTAR = Game show & Trade, All-Round
Gaming exhibition where local and international gaming companies showcase their goods (PC/Mobile/Console/Online and other platforms).

Thanks a lot for this! I'm totally rapt to see Fruitdealer there as well, being my favourite player and all that. He's had plenty of time to practice since being eliminated so early so I expect to see some new tactics from him

I hope the other players are Tester, Clide, Foxer, Nestea, Genius, MC and July (unlikely).

Hmm. Anyone know if theres going to be an English cast?

Can't wait~It will be awesome!

They could just do the top 8 from the two GSL's. The only player in both was HopeTorture.
They could just invite the top 8 from the two GSL's + 1 wildcard (since Hopetorture made both Ro8) and call it a day.
1. NEXLiveforever 2. MakaPrime 3. FruitDealer 4. oGsInCa 5. sSKS/Tester 6. HopeTorture 7. oGsEnsnare 8. HongUn 9. Foxer/Optimus Prime 10. Kyrix 11. Genius 12. NesTea 13. SlayerSBoxeR 14. Nada 15. Zenio
+
16. Check or Idra
That would be a pretty good lineup.

This makes sense.
Man that would be sick if Idra got in on this. He deserves it too. After all, someone's gotta be the bad guy amirite? If it went to Check I wouldn't be too upset though, either one of them are worthy of being in this group, and Check is slightly ahead of Idra on qualification points for S-class I think.
i just want kyrix to be there.
i want some non-korean please!
Well, depending upon how they divvy up the rest of the spots doing it by their rankings wouldn't be a terrible idea. After the GSL s3 qualifiers they'd have an even better picture of their rankings... might as well use them.
wow lots of money going into sc2
i hope they get at least 4 foreigners in this (So if they fail to qualify we get to see em at least) idra huk jinro (ret or kaki or select) gogo :D
I think Idra should get on it. He's not a giant name in the GSL so far, but he's made major waves in the western pro scene. He's the only MLG winner who has ever had moderate success in GSL.
... and the title of being the best Starcraft 2 player.
This is kinda weird. With NesTea being the current GSL champion, I'd consider him the best (or at least one of the best) SC2 player(s) at the moment.
Well you can't really judge who is the "best player", take FruitDealer for an example, a defending champion losing in the round 32. Maybe the "most consistent player" would be the best. But then again, the name All Star sounds much cooler so yeah it can attract more viewers.

On November 15 2010 19:19 Nouar wrote:"three hundred" live ? Ok the vod view is nice but 300 is....... Isn't it obvious? It's 300 because the studio can't really have more unless they go to a bigger studio OR play the finals in a stadium.

The wc3l finals in china drew more than 2 thousand people, when the stadium was only like 4/500. How it's worded in the article lets me believe only 300 actually showed up :/ If this is the case, this is really low. I hope not.

Quite a good spread of players, looking forward to seeing TesteR play

Great list of players.
Tester will crush.

That player list is insane. Whoever wins this will have to be a sicko.

You guys get full & capped streams forcing restreams that you then force to be taken down and you won't even have anything for this? I am sad
I hope someone restreams the KR cast :/
So this is basically the top 8 from GSL 1 and 2 minus LiveForever, plus oGsTheWind (Z) and Sangho (P) as wildcards. I guess LiveForever couldn't make it. He was prepping for the Korean SAT's last GSL.
BoxerPrime is changing his name to OptimusPrime =)
giggles =) that alone is making this worth watching.

awesome, kyrix is playing

This is awesome, hope there is an english stream!
WOOOOTT!!!! GJ GOM XDD cant wait now!!!
this is stupid T_T how can there be allstars already? the player pool is going to be constantly shifting in the early stages of sc2's life
i think its a good idea to keep eyes on sc2 with multiple events, but this is weird...i'd like a proleague, this is just a hype reach but a lot MOST of these players didnt qualify for gsl3 or do well in gsl2 so its gonna be a lot of mediocre play saturated in hype.
holy shit this looks awesome
I hope we get some restreams then, because I'd love to see this tourney, I would even bear the pain of listening to Korean language
wow no foreigners and no english commentating. GomTV is making a mistake here

Sigh. Indeed why? It hurts me as an entrepreneurial/management student to contstantly see this lack of awareness of business capabilities. Here you have the largest and most professional e-sports scene/league of all time and still you treat the world outside of Korea as if it were'nt interested. People from every nation on earth follow these players every day. Make use of it! Feed the world with inside news and information, do live interviews in english, broadcast the preliminaries, visit the Pro's practicing in their team houses and for goodness sake broadcast this kind of amazing event (the All-star game) to the rest of the world. Give me a good (and I mean long-term, business wise) reason not to invest even more into this scene right now.
I bet they made some strange advertisement contract that doesnt allow them to stream outside korea
SOMEHOW. SOMEWAY. I WILL WATCH THIS LIVE.
On November 16 2010 07:58 Raid wrote: SOMEHOW. SOMEWAY. I WILL WATCH THIS LIVE.
Yes. Of course. But for E-sports to make it to the next level outside of Korea, a blurry restream isnt what we need...
Ohhhh god. This is... this is.. oh my god.
I know people are going to hate me for ignoring every other favorite (as in the other 14 players) but.. BOXER VS FOXER DO WANT
And the fact that we have to go hunting for restreams is kind of pathetic. Has the esports scene really only evolved this far?

You can hardly accuse them of playing favourites. They've just taken the highest finishers from the biggest SC2 tournament in the world (which people in this thread were suggesting they do before they saw the player list) and then added 2 wildcards.
Darn. Say what you want about idra, but he's an all star. I'm guessing they didn't want to put him because they didn't plan to stream this to the foriegn community. Hence, they decided not to put him in, because if they did and it wasn't streamed, there'd be riots on tl.net. So, no go for Idra...
Too bad. Because in these smaller tourneys, I feel like he would have a damn good shot at winning. I really hope he manages to make S class. He said in the last sotg that he thought he'd make it, but I wish he'd make final 8 just to cement it.
Don't get why they don't use Artosis and Tasteless when they must be aware of the amount of foreigners tuning in for GSL :/
I am disappointed that there isn't going to be a foreign stream. Does anyone know if there will be VODs of the korean stream for people that won't be able to tune in live?

thats pretty weak for people that work during the streams ><
such a shame i wont be able to watch 16 of the best players play because of their lack of realization of how big the foreigner scene is.

I was excited until I saw the posts concerning the streaming... there must be some sort of advertisement deal that is stopping it... wouldn't make sense since they are already supporting foreign viewers (GSL streaming).

The Starcraft 2 All-Star Tournament will be played by 16 specially invited progamers. SlayerS_`BoxeR`, oGsNada, GSL Season 1 winner FruitDealer, and 13 other popular progamers will all be competing for total prize pool of ₩15,000,000 (~$13,330) and the title of being the best Starcraft 2 player. By "the best", do they mean best among the invitees, or the best in the world? If the latter, what then is the GSL trying to determine?

Hope this means that GOM won't be shutting down restreams and VODs since there won't be a monetary stake involved.
What's the point of not streaming the matches for rest of the world? :o
It definitely seems that GOM is pretty motivated by money since you can only watch replays for seasons you purchased. If they aren't charging for this tournament, then I can't really see why they would be motivated to provide restreams when these games would probably be bigger (bandwidth-wise) than most of the GSL matches.

If they dont want pay tartosis, they should at least sub the vods and try to sell them .. I think they could try to monetize more those "lesser" events
But...But....I have to see some of these.
Genius and NesTea sSKS and Nada Sangho and Boxer Inca and maka
grrrrrrrrrrrr. Really hope a restream manages to pop up or something. These will be really good games.

finding those videos aren't a problem really, actually when they arent casted in english I *think* there is not even copyrights over them ... the problem is the video gets way lesser appealing if u dont know most of what the casters are saying ...

They can cast in whatever language they want. I just want to see the damn things.

Oh yeah, they are totally missing an opportunity for a bad guy here. Imagine a foreigner known for his BM knocking out an fan-favorite or two. If he beat BoxeR the whole country would probably go to Defcon 1.

Hahaha, did anyone else notice that two GSL champions and one runner-up are on the first side of the bracket, and SlayerSBoxeR is on the other side?
I guess they haven't really defined those as the brackets yet, but with the way the matches are split up it looks that way.

They still don't have any sponsor/advertisement for the foreign stream and streams cost money. Last time when they had the korean stream available for us but maybe they were just testing out the test p2p stream? I'm sure gomtv is trying their best... at least we're getting vods of the qualifying rounds.
hopefully we'll get a restream or something though.

I can smell a Boxer vs. Boxer final here! I would love to create an overview thread in the tournament forum, but I will be in bed and/or at work while the games are being played, so for the one who will create the thread: Have some bets and odds:
+ Show Spoiler +
Wow, there has to be a way to watch this. Tester is a good Terran player himself, so it will be interesting how he deals with Nada.
I am also surprised they invited Sangho. He is clearly a good player, but why not oGsMC? TheWind or Idra? Debatable as well.
just to confirm that i converted the time zones correctly; this thing starts in about 5 hours, right?

Hopefully someone living in Korea might be kind enough to give us all a hand and re-stream this. Having GomTV not streaming it outside Korea isnt what i was hoping for.
Thank you in advance to anyone able to re-stream it.

Omg omg omg omg omg AWESOME!
Or not that awesome unless we get a stream ; - (

So to clarify, anyone outside of korea will NOT be able to see a korean or english stream?
i.e. you can't watch the korean stream through http://ch.gomtv.com/414 ???

I can't figure out how to watch it there, I tried to register an account, but I think you need a korean social security # to register an account on gom.com? Unsure as I know 0 korean and was relying on google translate. If anyone finds out how to watch this please update this thread! Thanks.

any korean here who will restream it ?:/

especially dont wanna miss TesteR vs NaDa
Wow I really want to see Tester! Hopefully he can get some redemption after not qualifying
go http://ch.gomtv.com/414
and click live at the top right...
it will link you to a schedule and you can click the live button (in korean) when it's starting.
You just need to download the plugin which will be asked when you click the stream link.
Enjoy Liquider
is it just me or is that link not working right now? seems like its server end is really slow for me and nothing loads...
where is "live" at the top right? the orange button? doesnt work for me
BoxeR is going to take this.
I'm not seeing a "Live" button either
I'm getting 해당 영상은 대한민국 내에서만 시청하실 수 있습니다. which roughly translated tells me I have to live in Korea to watch it.

can someone post a restream pretty pretty please.

You got to translate the page to english.. and you can see live next to download
Use chrome

Install GomPlayer.
Go here: http://live.gomtv.com/
Look at the grid/chart schedule on the center column of the page.
They are listing matches like TL does - name of match (and some pictures) and a list of streamers under it.
Click the reddish orange button (on the right side) on one of the links.
You get something like http://live.gomtv.com/12042/1
Click the button with the red Play |> icon.
watch the 30 second commercial.
I'm sure somebody will ninja me on this
(i dont know if this is correct but it's what the other guy wrote as well people are saying are right)

thank you very much timetwist )
Foxer walls off nat w/ 3 rax, macro game inc
FoxeR walls off his natural with 3 Barracks! Zenio has put down a gas and is now getting a baneling nest and ling speed
4 Gas for Zenio, and FoxeR is pushing out with a significant bio army, looks like it could be bad.
Edit: Double post. And nvm, FoxeR's army got rolled.
foxer pushing w/ marine marauder, banelings already out
FoxeR pushing with . . . marauders? And marines, of course.
Ah, nice pincer--nowhere for FoxeR to micro his marines, so they all get chewed up by the banelings. Army gets massacred.
zenio traps half of foxer's army and kills w/ banelings, kills the other half w/ lings despite good micro by foxer
Although I generally hate people who re-stream gom.tv events. Thank you so much for this ♥. It's retarded how they set this up for korean's only.
Spire up for Zenio and mutas out, FoxeR looks to be in a terrible position.
Zenio is playing this so well, that's how you do muta baneling.
Zenio basically throws away his lings and blings do minimal damage with FoxeR's micro. Most of the lings and blings got destroyed. He is also making more blings and getting a 4th base.
... And his marine army gets completely destroyed by banelings and mutas. Mutas inside FoxeR's main and it looks like its gonna be a GG soon.
If GomTV has an issue with me re-broadcasting this, please let me know I'll take it down. I assumed that since it's free to people, they would not mind a re-broadcast. I can see them having issues with GSL re-streaming (since those are paid streams for the HQ) but not this.
Foxer's micro and macro is so good, he's just so far behind after that early rush.
wow, Zenio looking beastly. Foxer's marines are being figured out methinks.
GG. 1-1. Very impressive by Zenio.
I really hope FoxeR's marine-play is going to be at an end soon...
That guy probably has a lot more potential but... he seems to be relying too much on what he did to defeat Fruit Dealer in a shocking 2-0 set.

He was out-microing and out-macroing Zenio, he was just too far behind from the openings. He needs to play a solid mid-game instead of relying on winning in the early game all the time.

Good game by Foxer, but not sure what Zenio could have done differently. He knew what was coming as soon as he scouted double gas with the Zergling and held off the Thors for a long time, but still ended up getting destroyed.
Could fast drop and ovie speed along with roaches be better?

Its really a bad move of them tbh. They have tasteless and artosis ready to cast the shit out of everything, and even if it would be hard to setup a cast for them at that location they could atleast just stream the korean stream on the english site. Just seems lazy for such a huge tournament not to be covered better for us when its so easy.

Sucks for the Toss, Fruitdealer completely raped him this game. 1 base roach -> nydus.
epic nydus placement by FD :D
FD uses nydus right in main where Hongun doesn't have vision, looks to be gg
Are we really going back to the first three days of the beta when everyone nydused into the opponent's base in every game?
Fastest nydus ever.. so awesome.
Honestly expected better from HongUn.
hongun won't be going anywhere in gsl 3

Why not if your Toss opponent has 1 walled off gate?
disappointing series. but genius is up, against last gsl's champ woo. nice match.
Hongun got screwed. He was ahead in the real game 2 and would have won it easily.
Yay Tester vs Nada! Nada FIGHTING!
In other news, this will be the only time we get to see Tester really play for a while. Time to prove if he's just unlucky or horribly overrated.
People don't seem to understand that the 1 cannon was fine. Stalled and got his expo up. Worked perfectly first LT game. FD countered it perfectly second game because he knew it was coming. Series wasn't disappointing at all. FD and HongUnPrime both played greatly...people just don't seem to get the whole pylon wall off thing...lol.

Don't think he was really ahead. FD had like a million drones.

They were all on one base. Drone to Probe count was probably close to even. FD had an economic disadvantage and his roaches weren't going to win him the game. All they got him was a forge kill. Protoss was ahead in second game and could have done so many different strategies from that point. Protoss probably had it, sucks that it disconnected though

FD had the 4 roaches (3) outside of Hongun's base. That's it. Hongun had his natural before FD and his double starports were about 75% finished.
I'm pretty sure Hongun had that.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the stream. I'll update this thread later with the stream if I cast the 4 PM games. Again, I want to make sure GomTV is okay with this. I assume they are since it's a free stream and nothing paid like the GSL.

Thank you for the restream.

did anyone recorded the stream ? I want to see this so badly ...
hongun powerd too much eco in the last game, i mean come on 4 gas ? so many probes? if u already ahead, you should instead getting the core faster and some gateway units so u can hold off the roaches/allins
games were extremly boring tonyoh trust me. [SPOILER ALERT] First game hongun 3gate blinkstalker allin which failed miserably second game cannonwall at zergchoke and then fast nexus with cannons, but fruit nydus/roachallined him to hell then
hope the other 2 series are better today. <3 genius and tester!

I don't want to infringe on GomTVs rights. I would imagine they want to retain control over VOD distribution so I'll let them handle that.

Hopefully you're enjoying the games as well, even if it's a little cold outside.

When do the next series start?

They were removed (by us). Sorry.

That's why I think NEXGenius, while solid, does not have a "wow" factor. Fought so long, didn't even know that NesTea had one more expansion. Certainly lacking to his gameplay.
Just not very solid.

I'd be amazed if he didn't at least strongly suspect the 3rd was up. It's generally assumed that the Zerg has already taken his 3rd in that position

Did the stream go offline?
I think so...it died for me too
I Knew playing all that Kpop would lead to something disastrous.
Tester is my hero after all
NaDa needs sum of those thors :/
What an amazing PvT. It sucks these guys didn't qualify for GSL3, it's obvious they're at or near the top of their respective races.
hoooolaaay crap that was a good game. Phoenixes were absolute ballers there.
Aww damn, missed the match. Who's currently streaming it?
Definitely... amazing.
I just saw one of the sexiest tank pushes in SC2 followed by an awesome tank break.
I can't believe Tester got knocked out of GSL twice, with the kind of play he showed here
