You can see it comes up with the same technique as EC comes up with, ie the extractor trick to get a faster pool and the double overlord to avoid getting larva capped.

Still a lot to be done though, hopefully will have a release ready by the end of the weekend.



I can`t wait :-))))))))

I tested that build with yabot and from the start i am 5 sec off - this is no problem but if you want to do it 100% realistic i`d say to add a 5 sec delay at the start.
Also i am a little off with the gas. Doing the build exactly i have less gas, i think i end up with 30 gas shorter so the last roach is very delayed.

I will test the gas also in other builds, but it seems to be also not in think with : Haploid`s

Better to find out exactly where the difference is. Have you got a link or something which describes the YABOT format? I've tried looking but couldn't find anything...

Yep, definitely seems like the gas calc is off. And thanks for that link to Haploid's, didn't know about that one. Will be very handy for testing.

Edit: Also I'm not sure if the larvae timings are off.. You'll see that my app says you've got 2 larvae before the third overlord, but in Haploid's it's 0 after... Good thing his gives the timings of when larvae spawn. I will have to implement printing of events for my app so we can compare.

Edit 2: Ok, I modified the gas calcs to match, and reran the build order, but now the larva timings are off. Still looking into why...

Edit 3: Found the bug - building the overlord wasn't using larva

i redid the test and your gas calc was perfect

It does say 5.2 but I realized my final build was in the waypoint 3 section and not the target - i must have had something funky in there. My mistake.

Can't wait for the zerg one, I'd like to test out the timing of some potential counters to that build in PvZ.

Also, i had warpgate researched and Ground Weapons 1 - so the output is a bit different, but happens on a similar timeframe.

Anyway to make a priority system? One issue the programme has is it optimises the build to make buildings before units, which means any early rush destroys alot of the builds, even if its just a few units, it would be nice to be able to say for example

20 probes
3 stalkers
3 gates
+1 Armour

And have stalkers ticked as "priority" so they get out before the forge begins

Also an idea for a change would be simplified listings, or a "turn probe off" function so it just gives the supply number for each significant structure or unit instead of a big list of "build probes"

That shouldn't matter actually. It treats all the waypoints & target exactly the same.

I know, but a lot of people want to compare the programs, plus the Zerg stuff is already half done. Will be much quicker to finish the Zerg off for those who want to use it than do all of Terran.

If you want that then just use a waypoint set with an earlier target and have the stalkers done.

I know that CarbonTwelve just addressed this, but I have tried to use waypoints to separate out probes and units before continuing with a build, but it still prioritizes the buildings in waypoint 3 over waypoint 2. It was odd, and if you need I can try to reconstruct the build order (I didn't save it at the time).

Edit: Just to be clear, I'm saying that I'm having the same problem as Frack and that waypoints doesn't necessarily fix it.

waypoints seem to fix that problem for me. I have earlier waypoints with units so that i can defend, and then i have a further waypoint with the expansion.

Also, it would greatly help if you put in your "targets" and program output.

CarbonTwelve, how many games would you say are required before you can safely stop the app? Or is it better to use time as a factor, as in time since build was last updated? If it's time, how many hours since its last update should you let it run before stopping it?

It greatly depends on how complicated the build order is. Generally though, I'd say that once the city has been stagnant for more than half of its evolution then it's probably safe to stop as it's either got the best it can get, or at least 99% of the way there. I guess I could provide a visual cue to indicate once it's ready. I'll add that to the ToDo list

Thanks for the excellent program.

A suggestion for way further down the road, if at all: It would be revealing to visually see your build order in timeline form. For example, each row would be a structure (columns are minutes), and a colored bar would appear in the row when that structure was producing something, with a label on it, such as "Zealot". Maybe a secondary indication for chrono. The idea is to quickly and visually see where you have holes in your build, where structures are idle.

And a question: each line shows how many minerals and gas you have left. This line shows up after each waypoint, but then there is also an "Income" line. What is the difference?
