Can you force spawns on Shakuras Plateau?

From what I hear, Shakuras Plateau forces cross positions on ladder. Is there any way I can do this when I create a custom game? I'm trying to organize a local tournament and this is the only thing keeping me from adding it to the map rotation. Thanks.

Setting it to 1v1 should do this I reckon, tho this is complete conjecture. Haven't tested it.

When Played on 1v1 Melee mode, the map should function just like it does in ladder. It's important to note though, the map does not force cross positions, but rather just negates the possibilty of close vertical positions.

This is not true. Played a ladder game on it YESTERDAY and got top left and top right spawns.

I think it's referring how you cannot have both players on the same side of the map (both on left side or both on right side).

Ah, excuse me. It behaves like on ladder, which is not always cross positions, but never veritcal (close ground) positions. I falsely assumed that's what the OP meant.

you will never have someone directly above or below you.

You can be anywhere on the opposite side horizontally.

I think its possible that if you set it to 2v2, you will never spawn vertically close, but if you set it to 1v1 you might?

My reasoning is that its impossible to spawn vertically close as opponents in a 2v2.

this. it's what iNcontroL and a few others have debated about on SotG podcast and yes it;s the 2v2 setting b/c your teammate would normally be close positions

As long as you're set to 1v1 it'll force either cross positions of botleft - botright or topleft - topright, which is fine. Its only the vertically close positions that are ridic.

Go ahead and use it in the tournament its a great map. Just make sure host sets games to 1v1

If you've played around with the map editor in SC2, you'll notice that when you make melee maps you can force how players spawn in relations to their enemies regardless of the team size.

Its not necessarily a 2v2 setting, but the map makers went through each spawn and set it so that there were only 2 enemy spawns (cross and horizontal)

for example, a spawn at top left will only be enemies with top right and bottom right. Bottom left isn't in the enemy list for top left (which also applies vice versa)
