I'm gonna take a side-step, here, from all the dramallamalicious nonsense that's ended up in this thread and say all that really needed to be said by anyone:
"Yay! Another marathon event for the Child's Play charity! Woohoo!"
'kay? 'kay.

Now. I'm probably gonna get grief from Abyss over this but, honestly, the whole "we did it first, no we did, no WE did, NO WE DID, RAAARSSSSSSSSSsssss...*BOOM!*" thing is so utterly pointless that I'ma stick a fork in it, 'cause it's freakin' DONE already! Hell, it's damn well burnt to a crisp, by now. Sure, Raelcun could at least've written out the name properly (*thppt* :-P") but it is the second Extravaganza and RQTV did use the first as a springboard for what ended up a seriously kick-ass marathon event. Beyond that? Who really cares? The kids got a SHEDLOAD of toys from it and THAT is what matters. Period.
Cool names and stuff aside (since I like both the "Extravaganza" and the "48HfM" ones! :-P): it's a gaming marathon for charity that means (in short) kids that are stuck in a hospital for stupid amounts of time have cool stuff to distract them from the bad things going on around and to them. THIS IS, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, A GOOD THING!
Screw the bitching, screw the back-and-forward bullshit. Seriously. It's childish and demeaning to the whole bloody point of ALL of the marathons (CHARITY!), regardless of who is doing or has done them and it doesn't freakin' matter whether it's the first, the third or the twenty-bazillionth event (though I expect if it was the twenty-bazillionth, we'd actually need that time-machine Diamond mentioned to manage the +1 hour one-ups. :-P).
And for what it's worth - just for the pedantic buggers amongst you and to cut off any more bickering about it (that I've seen elsewhere) - the event officially lasted 48 hours; it unofficially continued on to just over the 57 hour mark with Tofu and I (during which, people were directed to make their donations directly to Child's Play) before Tofu wussed out and fell asleep and I had to stop because there was no-one left that could be the 'screen.' :D So, officially, it was still only 48 hours. Stop arguing about it. Yes, I hung about in chat and such for at least another 20-odd hours and was up for a total of just over 90 hours, straight (no, I'm not kidding - no, I didn't have even a short nap, at any point - yes, my Insomnia Level is OVER 9000!! :-P) but that wasn't official marathon-time. :-P
Oh, and Raelcun's entirely correct about the "no caffeine (until the end, maybe)" thing. Caffeine will buzz you and you'll burn out, early, or end up really ill if you continue to force it (and aren't used to it). Experience talking. -_-
Yes, my topics are jumping all over the place.
Redstone circuits are fun.
Personally, I encourage the charity one-up-manship. If everyone could take a step back, deliberately take it as the good-sportedly tongue-in-cheek excuse that it should be and keep doing it to each other, we'd all be much less stressed (arguably), much more tired (definitely), many more good-hearted nerds (and their friends) would be out of pocket (tee hee!) and many more unfortunate kids would be happier with their new shinies. How is that not a good thing?
Exactly: it is a good thing.
So, quit being tardnerds, start word-of-mouthing this damn event, already, and count this overeager Scotsman as willing to join y'all on Skype, or whatever, in the hopes that you might all actually understand me when I get hyper (y'never know... stranger things have happened...). :-P"
(and damn y'all for making me wall-of-text on TL! RAAR! Where'd I hide that creeper.....)
