Very nice!
No more replacing mpq when patching.
And its so easy to port to another installation of sc2 without messing around with that sc2 installation.
+ a its only a single file to edit.

This is extraordinarily convenient. I suppose it's the foundation for Blizzard's eventual implementation of completely customizable hotkeys. Until Blizz polishes that and releases it, this will have to do

Still confused. So if I put "ControlGroupAssign1=`+1" into the My Hotkeys file, does that mean I've switched assigning Control Groups from "Control+1" to "Tilde+1"?

I'm happy with nearly every hotkey, but there are just those few inconvenient ones.

I changed Immortals to and the Cybernetics to Q, and removed every Surrender/Quit hotkey.

i dunno if its your english but its really hard to understand im trying to make control group 7 into control group W ( i assign and append with w instead of 7 ) and i got this :
[Settings]

[Commands]
UI/Hotkey/ControlGroupAssign7=Control+w
UI/Hotkey/ControlGroupAppend7=Shift+w
(im a protoss player and im used to warpgates :D)

but its not workign so what am i doing wrong?

Sorry I couldn't manage to do this. How do I assemble a hotkey file with grid and "select all Warpgates" on Z?

I tried opening the text file in sc2tools and simply fill in all grid hotkeys, but there was no option for "select all Warpgates".

Read original hotkeys in downloaded files

UI/Hotkey/ControlGroupAssign7=Control+w
UI/Hotkey/ControlGroupAppend7=Shift+w

Delete red text and read original file (that you're downloaded) with hotkey syntax

I have yet to hear about anyone being banned for using custom hotkeys, via editing MPQ or otherwise, and it would be frankly retarded for that to happen.

i actually dont mind using the standard keys. it helps me improve my hand speed and accuracy across the keyboard and not just the wasd area. anyway it certainly doesnt sound illegal so people shouldnt have trouble over this method.

Queen syntax is very easy:
Queen=Q


For custom hotkeys for all units you're need to open GameHotkeys_button.txt (or GameHotkeys_button2.txt, no different, only some changed hotkeys)

and the TownCamera one is working, while the Queen is not. This is in LiquidHotkeys.sc2hotkeys.

Are you saying that I need to create a file called GameHotkeys_button.txt and put Queen=Z in there, or that there's a GameHotkeys_button.txt file somewhere that I need to find?

What I mean is that it seems like changing things such as TownCamera, CameraSave, Quit Game hotkeys (all UI things) works fine with this method, but changing things like Build Zergling, Queen, inject larva, burrow, etc. don't, or at least seem to need something differently formatted.

You're need to create only anyname.sc2hotkeys file.

txt files, that you're downloaded, are help and FAQ for you (you can copy from them hotkeys with their names and put to your scheme and edit)
