I'd say IdrA was admirably civilized at the IEM Finals Interview. The guy basically says to MorroW "well you won the tournament but it doesn't really count cuz reapers are imba" and then turns to IdrA and says "let's not talk about balance..." The interviewer is lucky he came away from that with all his teeth still left in his mouth.
For some reason, I bursted out laughing at the last sentence :p
But yeah, I doubt IdrA will be picked up by a Korean team because of the language barrier, etc.
He will most likely be picked up by a team with many sponsors such as MYM ( Artosis ) until / if Korea switches over to Starcraft 2

Actually not a big fan of this - I think Idra thrived in a Korean house with their work ethic pushing him.. but will be very keen to see where he ends up now :D

While your post brings up a good point, I had to point out there aren't any tickets to sell for BW. She does bring in the fans, like a lot of oldschool players still on teams but with minimal (if any) game time, like Boxer, NaDa, July, etc.
As for IdrA, makes sense for him to leave so long as CJ is sticking with BW since he's not of any use to them as a practice partner nor they are to him (not to mention I can't imagine they'd be happy to officially sponsor a SC2 player until the official switch if an agreement with KeSPA is struck).

Idra doesn't even speak the language. Because Korean teams in general prefer Korean players? Because Idra seems to have no interest in learning Korean or having extended interaction with Korean teammates and would probably prefer English speaking teammates/team? Because we know how much of a good predictor you are (ex. Google Wave)?
Korean teams would rather add a foreigner than another Korean. If they didn't, no foreign player would have gone to Korea in the past six years.
Foreigners are different. And when they participate in Korean leagues, it makes Starcraft seem like a global sport.

I kinda agree ... I think they are looking for good players. From what I understand all foreigners have not qualified for the GSL. So, I think Idra may have made a mistake leaving CJ right now, unless he has something lined up we don't know about.

MorroW admitted to Dennis sometime before the match that reapers are imbalanced.

I don't think he made a big mistake at all. He's the clear favorite for #1 SC2 player in the world. The fact that he is now a "free agent" means that pretty much every well-known SC2 team will be looking to pick him up. The way I see it, he can only win in this situation.

yeah this is probably a good move. he should join a team thats heavily into sc2. i guess its gonna be ogs or prime.

I know he did but that doesn't change anything. Here I'll rephrase my paraphrase: "well you won the tournament but it doesn't really count cuz, by your own admission, reapers are imba". If anything it makes it sound worse because now it's impugning not only MorroW's skill but his integrity as well.
Even if his poor English made it sound worse...the imbalance of the TvZ matchup is a really sore subject. It was completely inappropriate to bring it up at that point and simultaneously tarnish MorroW's win and rub salt in IdrA's wounds.

Can you even name Korean sc2 teams beside prime or ogs? I don't think there are tons of Korean teams dying to pick Idra up. If he joins a team I predict it'll be a nonKorean one.
If not he might go the Nony route and come back home to the US and continue to compete from the US like Nony is doing.
|
Tbh, I think his performance in GSL will be the telling factor. If he wins the whole thing, you can bet your ass korean teams will want him.
|
Well, if idra succeeds in GSL, then he would have in his possession plenty of money to continue his freelancer game-life for a while.

To all you people asking why IdrA doesn't just 'learn Korean', I direct you to this chart:

For a native English speaker, learning Korean isn't like learning Spanish or German. It's much harder.
Think IdrA has 2200 hours to spare?

i think IdrA should join TL and perhaps help TL to become a foreign fighting force to challenge the koreans wud be cool for TL to flagship the foreign push into sc esports in korea ^^

How is he the clear favorite for number 1 sc2 in the world when there are such players as Cool and Tester (which he himself recognize as being troublesome to face)
Sure hes in the top, but saying hes number 1 is a bit over the edge

I've been trying to learn korean as well and I think with Idras scedule it's almost impossible....

I would be extremely upset if he joined a non korean team~
