Has anyone seen the Boxer vs Blackman video, where the English commentator was saying Boxer is responding do well, he must be able to hear the commentators. Most biased commentator ever, anyone know who it is?

I suspect that it's mainly that they can't pay attention to it, though I've seen a few pictures where the contestants are it little boxes.

He was wearing headphones over them when the game started but he kept taking them off during the interim. From what Ive seen of WC3 and BW competition play that always seemed to wear that combination of ipod style within sound cancelling.. Though to the OP I do remember TLO stopped the madfrog showmatch to say he could hear the casters and he got given those sound cancelling ones.

From my experience of streaming of any kind, there is a significant enough of a delay that absurd amounts of cheating is a bit difficult to pull off. Depending on the connection and stream provider, the delay can vary from several seconds, to a whole minute or more.

Somebody that watches the stream and only adds important things for you, things that actually matter with regards to the delay. Otherwise you would get overly distracted trying to listen to everything. Some casters almost scream at certain points, I would most likely lose a lot of focus listening to that compared to somebody just saying, he is proxying or he is hiding a starport in the north half of his base. This is probably one of the reasons why LAN tournaments are higher regarded.

@ totalbiscuit, iseries just hope that your headphones are good enough to not hear the shoutcasters (for when they do cast the finals if they have a proper stage set up) due to them not having any stage headphones.

especially after watching IEM finals In game 1 idra went for roach speed before getting enough roaches while game 2 was setting up day9 and apollo commented about that mistake and Idra didn't repeat that later... Clearly Idra is kind of player that doesn't need tips but it made me wonder if he heard them... Once again : it was between two games not in game!!! Also I'm pretty sure MorroW wasn't even wearing headsets while game 3 or 4 was setting up In game I don't think you can hear anything... you need to focus on game not on some whispers...

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/images2/a/a8/TLOMadfrog.jpg madfrog actually has a pair of steelseries headphones next to him but he likely isn't allowed to use them because you could easily hear the casters. i think what with having such huge headphones blocking out almost all sound plus having them playback the game sound, they can't hear anything at all. nor do i think they really want to. i know for some people there would be an incentive to cheat, but i feel that players of, say, tlo's caliber would rather win based on their own skill than win based off of a tip-off from the casters. that's what i would want to do, anyway.
