I have the game still running now, with 8 full control groups of overlords, an additional group of 90, 144 drones, 1 Nydus Network & 2 Worms, 22 hatcheries. Each of those hatcheries has three ready-to-hatch overlords that refuse to hatch and no larva. So if you include the hatcheries & nyduses and exclude the eggs (I'll explain why in a moment), that's 2299. So I destroy a hatchery. 1 of those ready-to-hatch overlords comes out, and all my hatcheries now have 1 larva. However, I can't use any of them. All of the portraits to build a unit are gone. The icon to create a new Nydus Worm is there, but when I try it doesn't work. If I cancel one of the won't-hatch overlords, all my hatcheries get another larva, but I am still unable to use it. So buildings count towards the final amount. Larva and eggs do not, and eggs will simply not hatch if you're at the limit. Minerals don't seem to count either, because I still had some on the map when my hatcheries stopped producing larva, and when they were gone new overlords didn't hatch. As far as lag, it's really not as bad as I expected so long as things are standing still. If I move all my control groups of overlords it doesn't even lag that much at first, until they get to their destination. The act of them spreading out practically locks up my computer, but once they are it's not that bad (all things considered). Edit: It seems I was wrong about the non-hatching overlords. They did count to the total, as canceling some causes others to hatch. So the total is somewhere between 2300-2400. | ||

It was pretty insane! 8 person FFA Speedling match would equal 1600 speedlings... omfg???????? | ||

It may be that we miscounted, or that the lag just stopped us from making more units, but pressing the buttons, the hot keys, etc wouldn't create the units unless we killed off other things. | ||

I built a bunch of creep tumors once, and it would only show a certain number of units on the mini-map and remove everything else (buildings, etc.). Can't remember how many though, exactly. Might have been around 1000 units total, not sure. Interesting how there'd be only a 1500 limit though. Edit: Makes sense that that 1500 wasn't a real limit. I wonder if values around 2250-2500 are per player or not. | ||
