-e-: climbing and climbing.. almost 12k. -e2- could't agree more with Geoff there.
Bad move getting rid of Idra. Idra moves the viewer numbers like no one else in SC2.
lol they aren't stupid. they know IdrA gets views. They decided the value of his views wasn't worth the liability. Companies will make decisions to lose out on money if they decide to preserve company image. Not everything is always about money.
I do think Valve are taking a better approach to eSports than Blizzard.
Really? Last time I checked Valve didn't seem to give a damn about any of their games as esports other than Dota 2, but I could be wrong. Not much is happening with CSGO right now.
It's not like they're interfering a lot with CSGO at the moment and the buildup to the first release was in high regard of pro CS1.6 players at the time according to cArn. Still lots of big players and some great tournaments hosted by various companies going round for CSGO. As for Dota2 they only host a International once a year and don't interfere that much with other tournaments.
While Blizzard seem to try and monopolize the entire tournament structure all over the world, really making it hard for other tournament organisers to flourish.
Valve fucked up the great opportunity to continue the CS saga, they made Source.

Im not about to spend $5 bucks a month for 4 VODs on twitch, thats horrible value.
Yeah, I missed the live SOTG today, but I wanted to hear the Idra talk. You should have seen the "WTF" face when I found out I have to sub to see the vods. In the past its felt like SOTG's schedule was really hit and miss. Some weeks they were on, some weeks they weren't. They might do a show at their normal time and then again they might not. Their schedule might be more consistent lately? Either way, my experience with the inconsistencies means I won't be sub'ing any time soon T.T;;;

It is about the money. EG's image is worth more than any number of views from 1 player.

State of the Game @StateOfTheGame 4m VOD is 100% unedited so there is a 3-4 minute pause when I took the show to break. Will annotate to skip pause, but wanted to upload ASAP
JP McDaniel @itmeJP 31m VOD is processing on Youtube. Patience sirs and madams!

Incontrol is such an incredible human being. He's able to see beyond the situation (Idra's rage issues, provocative statements, etc.) and see who Idra is: he's a pretty cool guy who is an incredible entertainer. I was blown away by his defense and explanation of Idra as a person and I agree with him from everything I've seen of Idra (and I'm just an online viewer). Great State of the Game.

watching, i cant help but feel uncomfortable with incontrol defending Idra's player value for just beeing a community figure. But he was very upset i believe.
