Hearing this talk about NASL makes me sad . As much as I love MLG I'm still sort of bummed NASL didn't get the gig. They had the most to lose by not getting the gig and they had the most to offer having experience with online qualifiers, online tournaments, and towards the end with "caster bash" they were getting into casting games live in their studio.
And as glad as I am Rotterdam is casting with MLG, Gretorp has come so far as a caster since season one it's nearly unbelievable so it's just a bummer all four of the NASL casters are sort of treading water right now.

Man, Incontrol and Intricacy are both "thicker," very humorous and likeable personalities. They should be brother and sister, really.
I do think Valve are taking a better approach to eSports than Blizzard.

I do think Valve are taking a better approach to eSports than Blizzard. What, you mean getting muscled out of tournaments like WCG or bungling ticket sales to TI3? Better approach for sure.

Really? Last time I checked Valve didn't seem to give a damn about any of their games as esports other than Dota 2, but I could be wrong. Not much is happening with CSGO right now.

And nobody cared. Shouldn't concern Valve at all.

Sure, you have a point. But do we (as Dota 2 fans) really need anything other than yearly MASSIVE tournament that has been well run every year so far, amazing in-game client system that the game has, with pennants, tournament tickets and so on to support the players and organizers in the e-sport scene? My point here is that the way Valve has approached e-sports with Dota 2, is amazing in my opinion.
It's completely different when it comes to Counter-Strike (for example), thats for sure and i completely agree with you there.

It's not like they're interfering a lot with CSGO at the moment and the buildup to the first release was in high regard of pro CS1.6 players at the time according to cArn. Still lots of big players and some great tournaments hosted by various companies going round for CSGO. As for Dota2 they only host a International once a year and don't interfere that much with other tournaments.
While Blizzard seem to try and monopolize the entire tournament structure all over the world, really making it hard for other tournament organisers to flourish.

I tuned in at the end of the show. Were they talking about NASL dropping sc2? If so, why is there no news on TL about this? Anyway that's what it sounded like, hope I'm wrong.

Rumors, speculations. Nothing confirmed.

Well this depends on what one expects and desires in terms of Dota 2's popularity as an e-sport. If, as a community, folks are ok with Valve basically handing over one of the largest venues for exposure in the Chinese marketplace, then the loss of WCG is no big thing. I'm not sure everyone buys that though.
