He knows Idra on a personal level so he's defending his friend for one... but at the same time he's right. Idra gets higher views than just about anyone else - any interview he does is highly watched. He's a huge name in esports, possibly the biggest. He wasn't even defending Idra's actions - he was explaining that he's wrong for doing stuff like this (he even said boldly that he says "stupid" things multiple times, doesn't seem like he's condoning it) BUT he's also still going to do well as an esports figure. The whole "hahaha Idra is dead and gone" thing is a joke - Idra will continue to be a huge figure in the community if he chooses to or he can go on and do something else.

Incontrol handled that really well, and he was completely right about Idra being an initial pillar of the scene in the first place.

I agree with you. It's just i feel that Incontrol really had some major thing going on with slasher, where slasher provoked him, perhaps not knowingly.

Probably Slasher being a bit of a dick with the "now the big question is Idra team speculation!" thing? And really everything he says throughout that whole section to be honest. It doesn't seem like he has any clue what's going on. He's just talking to say words and maintain his own image.

I've got no problem with anything Slasher said, State of the Game isn't a place to pull punches.

What did he say that was valuable? He compared Idra to Naniwa a few times, when they aren't similar. He made some statements about Idra's value that's basically speculation (and contradicted by both Genna and Geoff). He had no interest in what was going on with NASL, but DID really want to talk about the WCS regionlocking, which good lord has been talked to death. Seriously, what did he say that was worth having him there, other than a little zinger about WoT?

He should do it. He's a good caster. He should probably take a break from competing, honestly. His heart obviously isn't in it anymore.

I'd rather poke out my own eyes than watching any show with the sole objective of determining who contributes most or least to it.

Slasher posted after the show that he was trying to get feedback from players/teams while people were talking, did not see Incontrol's face on stream, didn't realize he was emotional, and when it was his turn to speak just went with it. He apologized afterwards.

Hey, quick break from the Idra news - for JP or any admins in charge of the show, I recently relocated from the states to China. I'm probably in a minor group of people, but both Blogspot and Youtube are inaccessible, which happen to be your two avenues of delivering episodes (for non-Twitch subscribers).
Obviously not asking you to rehost all your content or anything, but maybe just something to consider going forward if SC2/Sotg starts picking up more Chinese English-speaking fans. Perhaps an mp3 download mirrored on something that makes it through the firewall. Thanks!

Did the IdrA news literally come out while the show was happening, so was this news to JP beforehand?

That was the best ending I've seen yet.

The news was posted while the show was going on, and they noticed right after Incontrol gave a speech about Idra. The timing was pretty impeccable regardless of how unfortunate the news was.
If Incontrol didn't know, I honestly doubt JP knew.

Just watching while having breakfast, about halfway through and I friggin love it
Big props to Genna, JP and Incontrol - Rod not that hot to be honest
//edit: LOL dat ending.

awesome episode JP. I think the cast and the host really clicked today. Hope to see them make more appearances on SOTG in the future.

What did Idra do btw? They're talking of slaps on the wrist etc so was this something recently he did?

It was kind of weird for EG to release a statement before informing their own players though. Seems like that would have been the respectful thing to do.
