That's a route a lot of good players, both Korean and foreign, have taken. Yeah, but the point is that you can't discount Idra thinking player X is bad by claiming that he really said player X is cheesy, because the two things are similar in terms of Idra's respect for them.

Some people are better at public speaking than others. It's not like IdrA, JP, and iNcontroL do pod casts every single week or anything...wait a second. Honestly though, they could've been nicer to Avilo. They don't need to treat him like he's their best friend, but the way he was treated was a bit rude to say the least.

anyone know when the next show is? slightly more interesting subject than this, and maybe it will give you people something more constructive - or at the least more interesting - to talk about.

More details starting earlier here regarding the event on a whole. It also gets into the interesting contacting sponsors discussion. It sounded like Destiny really got the boot to get money pushed at Azeal.

Sounds like they wanted Idra, Idra planned on going to DH at that time, wasn't going to DH later, talked about going to GeSL and they picked Inori instead. Or not, idk, but that GeSL guy didn't go into much detail. Just said they wanted Idra initially.

Well that's dumb, most likely it was just EG management not even telling idra that he was invited because he was already scheduled for GESL and idra making an easy, if pessimistic and generally mean, assumption... It would also make sense to tell Demuslim "GESL wanted YOU!" instead of "LOL We're sending you as our not korean 3rd string guy who's only going there because Dreamhack is fucking up more popular/better players' schedules". Idra has the right to stream whenever the hell he wants... I mean, it may not be particularly good form, but when has idra ever given a shit about good form? GESL shouldn't have been defensive and should have just gotten out their story to the community without purposefully trying to blame/vilify highly popular community figures and alienating several thousand SC2 fans... I mean, when has our community NOT rallied around good tournaments getting smashed by childish botnetters?

Basically Idra was supposed to go to DH, which is why EG didn't send him to GESL. Then after some poor results, Idra decided to pull out of DH. A bit down the road he asked if he could get into GESL, so Evoli contacted GESL, but the last spot was given to Inori.

But in spite of that, the first day of the event was pretty poorly done, and it's going to be difficult to carry an audience multiple days- or to keep an audience engaged in the first day- if the event isn't at a high level. At this point, so many tournaments exist with such high production value that if your product isn't at that expected level, you won't succeed. Seems like they're trying to blame IdrA or the "old boys club" for their own shortcomings, and after about two or three minutes of Garrett's rant about IdrA I just felt like he was whining uncontrollably, rather than trying to form any logical argument. My opinion, take it or leave it.

How does this random show have anything to do with SOTG? All it looks like you are doing is bashing Idra for no reason, you aren't even defending Avilo anymore which is how you started out. You must be soooo mad at Idra because he had more viewers than the GESL right? Big fuckin deal

My opinion, take it or leave it. IdrA not handling things properly. The recurring theme! I wonder how DeMu feels about having his teammate not even supporting him at least even if Greg did have a legit beef with the event. And when did it become impossible to say anything negative without being called a whiner? Garrett's apparently now having to spend thousands of his own dollars because of the situation because he's a standup guy with integrity. edit: I meant to add, you are skipping over a lot that was done against the event before it happened in your attempt to blame the problems on bad production the first day.

Don't they realize they were treating a fellow human being as a sack of shit, and that they made a show of it! The "bad" thing was not "to bring Avilo on", it was to behave as they did. I don't want tocare about what you get on TV or on the radio in the united states. I, however, expect public figures whose prestige exceed american borders to have common decency. Such true words! Thank you for that statement! Really disappointed in JP. I expected such behaviour of unmannered brats like Inc and Idra but not JP. I guess manners don't matter that much...

You know how they always start with someone being really sick and then before every commercial break something new and even worse happens? It starts with noticing him being a total dick to avilo. Then it's thinking about the disrespect to Luckyfool and Fitzy. Then it's the posts in this thread. Then it's hearing details about GESL. And if I'm piling on, the casting on TSL4 is pretty awful. Missing lots of action, totally wrong predictions. I wouldn't have turned it on except I like Beasty and it's a Liquid event.
