i cant believe this is still discussed in here, and i love to see that scoots and eg dont submit to this stupidty.

if you want to turn the world into a better place, there are many ways to do so, but this is so much overreaction that you lost it completely.

i really like the idra+qxc part btw, good decision to get him on the show.

As a neutral viewer of the show and a casual fan of sc2 I was kinda taken aback by this episode. It did seem very "old boys club" the whole segment that's causing so much drama.

From a quick perusal of the thread it's pretty clear why avilo's opinion is not respected but for people who don't read TL/sc2 reddit all the time it was kinda bad at the time.

Quite surprised to see such a ridiculous outcry over this though it was a bit of a mishap not the end of the world.

the thing that gets things done is having a legitimate complaint

Your ignorance/arrogance at its prime.

Demanding action because, at worst, two people acted like assholes is ignorance and arrogance actually. At best a professional athlete would be spoken to behind closed doors and made to understand they screwed up.

The ridiculous overreaction and hypersensitivity of this community doesn't apply to the rest of the world.

You obviously don't keep up with sports, because it does apply to the rest of the sports world. I enjoy reading the posts about the "hypersensitivity" or "overreactions" of the Starcraft community when in reality it happens in EVERY sport. Drama sells, and whatever sells gets a lot of exposure. A lot of the fastest growing and largest threads on this site are about these types of stories. I doubt you'll find a sports website without some personal story that has nothing to do with sports, especially ESPN.

SirScoots obviously needs to learn to either ignore people or have a company line. Telling fans to no longer support the team because they differ in opinion during one scenario is pretty stupid.

I do keep up with other sports. The most recent example that comes to mind was Amare Stoudamire getting a slap on the wirst (in a relative sense) for using a homophobic slur. I didn't see any fans refusing to support the Knicks or demanding he be removed because of it. So, no, overreaction and hyper sensitivity are the perfect words.

You`re kidding me right? There's plenty of people that want Amare out because he's an idiot. Just because that story is larger and not centered in one location does not mean there weren't people raging out what he did or thinking like you do, that that it was an overreaction. Have you ever heard any New York radio shows? Yeah, I'm sure you keep up with sports.

Uhm. What? Do you live in New York? No radio show gives a shit about that stuff for more than a few days and there certainly isn't any outcry over wanting him out. People want Stat out because he plays matador defense and loses control of the ball too often when he drives, not because he hates gays or because of anything he said. So stop acting like there should be a stronger reaction to 5 minutes of a great show and find something more productive to do with your time.

there isn't many demanding idra, incontrol, jp or any of them to be punished. What boils down is people posts that they felt disgusted (similar to yours), while a few thinks avilo deserves it and defends their actions on a forum.

Also things like this will have different effects to people. Some have thicker skins, and some don't. Some will feel personally offended by it due to their personal experience, and some may just shrug it off cause they were offender or has never experienced/seen those things happen

can't believe sponsors are being contacted about this stupid shit. Idra was nice enough to agree to have a balance discussion with qxc on the show then some guy who idrA never wanted to talk to because he is a whiner and is unqualified to be balance complaining comes on and pisses idrA off by saying stupid shit so he tells him to stfu. How did this turn in to a reason to contact sponsors? What does that accomplish? YOU'RE KILLING ESPORTS YOU IDIOTS.

This is the shit thats killing eSports. Contact the sponsors over something someone said? Do you want to risk damaging this fragile industry because you are mad about what pro-gamer said over the internet? Thats ridiculous and this behavior has serious side effects.

No saying shit is killing esports is killing esports. If losing dudes on one SC show that is only really known to "hardcore" members of the community isn't going to kill sponsor interest in SC, and if it does then we're all doomed anyway.

The "bad" thing was not "to bring Avilo on", it was to behave as they did.

Fortunately most people don't act like twelve year old boys, and realize that in life they will have to deal with many people that have differing opinions from their own. My point was never to just go bitch to sponsors, it was that if you make the effort to contact a team's management, and they treat you like shit, if you care enough the next logical step is to contact the sponsor. Scoots was foolish to reply like that, if he really disagreed he should have either stated so in a professional manner, or said nothing.

Either you have the skin of a 10 year old girl or you get bullied yourself to take this small incident so personal. So personal you want to contact these guys sponsors which is absurd. These guys have already apologized in their own way but it doesnt seem to be enough for you guys, that is ridiculous to me. Next thing i am going to read is some of you nerds want them crucified and starved for a week for saying fuck you. I would not be surprised by that with all this overreaction and melodrama.

Yes that is fortunate

But the next "logical" step is to realise that this behavior is completely ridiculous and that you should just stop watching it if you are unhappy with the content.

I think Scoots was awesome to respond like that. You can't really paint it black and white like that. Whenever you take a position to anything in life you will make some people like you more and some like you less. Even if you choose to say nothing you are still taking a position and people are still going to judge you based on it.

Edit:

Holy shit for the 15th time I dont want to contact any sponsors I was responding to someone else. I think this is a trivial issue to contact sponsors over, Idra is Idra, and Geoff has always been a hypocrite and a bully so I'm not sure why people are surprised when occasionally that side of him shows. I actually like Scoots, he is really good on LO3 and I've enjoyed some of the interviews he has done, I still think it is kind of silly for him to respond to a reasonably worded tweet in the way that he did, what was the point?

Id say that scoots replyd like he did as eg see no problem with what happend and to show that he says to unfollow all of eg.i have to agree with ghim. Avilo brought nothing new to the table,if he just listend to the whole idro qxc bit he wouldnt have needed to be brought on as he wasnt going to be adding much more to what had already been a productive discussion.i cant really believe people are up in arms about this seems very strange to me. Id say that if something like this is upsetting you so much that you need to be emailing people then maybe you need to take a step back from sc2 take a few deep breaths and evaluate why this is making you so angry and maybe you need a break from it.there are much bigger things to get involved with at that level then this and maybe your in so far that you are blinded by bias rage like a fan in normal sports. In otherwords everyone should chill out

I contacted SirScoots to the affect I would not watch the latest EG mastercup because of the last SOTG antics. As you can imagine he was unrepentant advised I should just unfollow all EG, which is a shame as I quite like listening to the guy on Lo3 .

So I think the message is clear. If it didn't bother you carry on and enjoy the shows if it did best let EG know that you will not be supporting them at this time as its clear their management team see nothing wrong whatsoever with EGIdra or EGIncontrols actions of late.

SirScoots ‏@ "Underreaction, you should unfollow all things EG, myself included if they upset you so much."

Hahahah! You contacted SirScoots over this?

I'm sorry, but this is so funny to me! I'm glad Scoots responded like a baws! Scoots <3

I wish people cying would just go away. Going away is the ultimate complaint afterall and then we didn't have to ruin this thread with these silly complaints

Just for what SirScoots said, I'm going to go buy an EG shirt.

Seconded. What a way to shut down the wambulance.
