I love how people throw around that we should be "grateful" , like everyone is doing the show out of the kindness of their heart. SoTG is the only reason JP got a fucking job, stop trying to act like they are some kind of charity and have no benefit doing the show. Then start a show and do it yourself, jobs will fly in your direction. Like any bubble, there is a limited amount of exploration you can do.Sadly esports is already cashed out on. You just gave yourself ways that you could improve and make a better show, then say you can't cash out on it. Just a tip, if you can make a better product, people will switch to it. If you can't, they won't switch to it. The fastest way things grew in this community was word of mouth, people watched something, liked it, linked friends to it etc... You are just a person who complains and makes an example out of themselves on how they can't accomplish something on their own and just point out others errors. I challenge you sir, make a better show, I'll even give it a try and watch it. and seriously gl hf with that. You sir are stupid. If I can't create a better show because I don't have access to all these great personalities, or information, or even computer gear, or time, that implies that my critique on others work is nullified? What a retarded logic. Hell, we should not speak our minds about anything from now on until we do it ourselves. Yeah, cause this is how stuff works apparently. People start from nothing and become something. We aren't just born great people who automatically accomplish things. People rise, people gain fame. You are just giving yourself excuses and calling me stupid in the process. As I stated, you try it, I will tune in on your first episode. Some series out there had 100+ episodes before they got a real viewership or even noticed. They worked hard to become something, you just don't get it. It's easy to spit on things and say "They are lucky" there was little to no luck. I personally only knew of DJWheat and heard of him from epileptic gaming, but never anything about JP's show till SC2 starting to become big. Instead of calling me names, and making excuses, please try and I repeat. TRY to make something yourself before you spit on others work. These people work their asses off for us so we can have great entertainment. Edit: Seems you're a different poster, but the comment still stands You think meritocracy rules in e-sports? ha ha ha.... The entire community of western starcraft is one big nepotistic plutocracy. There's a reason theres no major fall-outs or drama between players, casters and leagues - they all support each other and refuse to badmouth each other, even when necessary or justified. Im not suggesting theres a coherent body that monitors whats going on, but good luck getting far in this scene when you speak your opinion and rustle feathers. The caster debate recently just highlighted this. There are casters that are fucking terrible in this game, and the only one that they attack is the one who has already left the scene. None of this is even mentioning South Korea, where corruption and shady deals are widely accepted among all businessmen. source: your own anecdotal observations

It will be amazing if JP still kept doing a show for an ungrateful community.

I know JP does a lot for e-sports and puts in a ton of work for SotG. However, just because someone put a lot of work into a free product doesnt mean the product or the producer shouldn't/can't be criticized. For me, it really wouldn't be that big of a deal if the show stopped. I can get similar content from other shows. If the show comes back, then I may or may not watch it depending on content. I think JP is a smart enough person to realize that he has to take "community feedback" with a grain of salt. If the criticism actually does get to him and pisses him off that much, the only solution is for him to quit. But quit and don't look back. It's human nature to have a mob mentality and he should know better than to try to attack the mob.

But people do not seem to be able to comprehend the difference between deconstructive and constructive criticism. Furthermore, people also do not understand how subtlties and tone tends to get lost in translation on the internet so word choice and phrasing becomes extremely important to avoid unnecessary aggression or conflict. People who post those one or two line flame-bait rage posts are not criticism by the way. Those are more like entitled and selfish individuals venting in a piss poor way.

SotG today? No updates on the twitter or anything...

Just cross your fingers the ungrateful pieces of shit in this thread don't make JP lose his will do to one tonight.
Seriously, if you're just gonna be a whining bitch about JP, get out, stop trying to ruin a great show that you are clearly not mature enough to enjoy.

Guys we got an MLG Arena coming up. I highly doubt there will be a SotG tonight. JP is busy with MLG work.

They said there will be a minimum of 3 a Month, so it would make sense to have this one. Surely he doesn't count last week.

People must be getting really bored with everything else going on to be this hype on a show.

That was for the sponsorship which I'm not sure whats going on there. Obviously they aren't sponsored yet as they never made an official announcement.

They have all been really busy lately as well with all the MLG events this year for JP to deal with.

When you think that they were going to be sponsored a while ago (It was actually one of the reasons iNcontrol was going to leave the show, as the sponsor was one of EGs sponsors direct competitors) and now they haven't got this, it does make you wonder a bit. I'm not saying anything shifty is going on but maybe JP still wants to keep it independent?

I hope JP isn't too mad at everybody ;_; I'm really in the dark with the scene since nearly all of my information came from State of the Game.

Yea, JP should really stop caring about this community and this thread. Seems like doing SOTG just brings more stress then it does fun.
JP cancel the show and go take a vacation.

uh. sotg isnt his "job". it's something he does voluntarily. maybe you forgot that part.

I really like what JP is doing. However I fear they will talk more about MLG than about the GSL finals which would make me sad. The GSL has a huge impact on the community which MLG has not. And not only because its PPV. People just care more about GSL than about Arenas.

Actually, this new season they're sponsored and are contractually obliged to do 3 shows a month. So technically it's their job, just not one with a fixed schedule.
