nobody here is saying sotg doesn't do wonderful things for the hosts... of course it gives tremendous exposure to our labels and allows us to become more of a figure in the community. Those are wonderful things. If you read me as saying "if I don't get paid I don't care" then please, allow me to clarify: I do care! It's tremendously important. But until I can pay the electricity bill with "Well I am famous on the internet and you should see the youtube comments" I will STILL have to prioritize the things that do pay me ahead of SOTG.
The argument that SOTG creates future monies with endeavors is a dangerous one btw. None of the hosts on SOTG only do SOTG. So none of us will buy ALL our success stems from doing SOTG.
I want to do a weekly show like every one else. Literally all the hosts want to do it. But when mon-tue is knocked out from travel and weds-fri is in some way shape or form complicated for the 5 hosts that do everything from a daily show, GSL, professional training etc etc.. it can get tough.
Arguing you have a right to be rude and mean because we benefit from the show in some intangible way is not going to get you any results.

iNcontroL we do understand your points (i hope) but we also love SOTG and need that fix xD though we can wait for it however long is necessary (like the artosis hour...is that dead?)

I would suggest you spend less time arguing with haters and rather respond to the people making proper arguments. In general I feel like you 90% of the time reply to idiots. Just let them think whatever stupid thing they want, and rather spend your time on TL discussing with the more serious users of the forum. I'm sure half of these people just spout crap so that they can get a response.
Just keep doing what you're doing, any sane person understand 5 busy schedules cannot find a spot every single week when you have to prioritize more important things. The outrage when there's no show any given week shows you there is a lot of passion surrounding the podcast though
Edit: Oh and this thread doesn't (imo) represent the opinion of the masses. There's just less incentive to post in here when there's no show in the near future, unless of course you want to moan and bitch.

Well said.
Would be cool if u can do more though, you guys crack me up. And in a way gaps inbetween is probably better as it gives you more concrete stuff to talk about. Nothing worse than getting to the point where your like 'well we are all here, umm nothing happened this week so we are going to make *this* seem really important' /drama ensues
Nobody should ever work for the promise of future money - if its training call it that.

I don't see why anyone has a problem with you not giving them the free service you were providing. You didn't have to do it in the first place.
No one has any right to demand anything of you, especially when it is a service provided for the masses.

Isn't life just an ass like that. Hopefully I shall get to enjoy more SOTG in the future. Regardless, I will be enjoying tacos some day soon and that solidified fact will hold me out till once again I can enjoy more of the internets lovely Starcraft medias. All I can really say is that it does suck to not have you guys for so long and that I would greatly enjoy a drinking show. . . but that is all. Thank you for all the past episodes, lovliness, and may you have awesome tacos, or make super babies in your future. (That goes for everyone. Screw speading love, spread tacos.)

Not because of ads, the popularity and spotlight from SotG the players get. Directly translates into stream viewers, etc.
For all the talk about how free it is and how they do it just because they are THAT nice to us lower beings, it is basically part of how Nony and incontrol make their money. They don't win tournaments so they have to get by on fanboy-juice.
It should be clear by now that inc/nony are not contracted on their respective teams purely because of their sc2 results (any more). I know this might sound a bit like I'm bashing them, but I'm not. Their job is more being "community guys" or whatever you want to call it.
The show is free for the viewers, but that doesn't mean the pros don't gain anything from being on there. Really absurd line of thought... A guy gives you a gift because he wants to give it you and because he thinks you'll like it. You do like it and this act makes you like him. Then he gives you another gift that but you don't like it. You think he owes you a better gift because you decided to like him? Even if you gave him a gift in return it's still absurd to have such an expectation.
Owing never comes into it. People do nice things for each other without expecting anything in return. The people receiving nice things should be gracious and if they are inspired to do nice things for people (including the person who did a nice thing for them) then they should do so on the same terms.
This system is nice and pleasant as long as there aren't too many selfish people. When selfishness comes in, an economy comes in. The value of things are measured and things of equal value are traded or paid for with currency. This is not where SOTG is at right now and as long as it isn't, you ought to enjoy the pleasantness of people simply doing nice things for each other.

Of course I appreciate everyone who is writing understanding posts. Your patience and graciousness ease the pressure and increase the motivation for improving the show. Thanks!

Appart from the sound/tecnical issues, it always have been a blast to watch SOTG so, just keep going, and improving. Or, ask for contribution and make the show a bit more steady, or don't and keep the familly&friends spirit. Ovioulsy JP&Co chosed the latter, and I feel its a good thing. It has its counterparts, thus the show being irregular and sometimes "garage-mode". Overall it's a great show, and mixing people a bit is a good idea (Qxc, Catz, IdrA...). I miss Artosis ALOT though :'(((

What's wrong with all the complainers? It's fun content from pros that's free. Just because it's not as regular as I might wish, it's still no reason to act like anyone is entitled to it. Just enjoy when it's out...sheesh...

i personally would have prefered to see SOTG at ipl 4 instead of Pax, but whatever, Doing it at Pax will do nothing for the scene of starcraft 2 other than some people saying " OH, I SEE". They are still going to play whatever game interests them the most. I fail to see how hosting a SOTG at this event will grow anything.
It almost seems to me that jp/arotosis/incontrol/wheat/day9 etc are doing this in an attempt to steer away some spotlight at what IGN is doing for the sc2 scene.
How much cooler would this have been if SOTG was done at IPL4 in vegas? But obviously it wont since Jp works for mlg and ign is a direct competitor.
Anyway, i said my small rant. In my view its a stupid move. It would have been alot funner to see incontrol interview these guys at ipl4, especially considering that it will be the greatest sc2 tournament to date, it has what over 1/2 of code S, entire gstl teams, something along the line of 40+ koreans. And these guys go PAX, which just so happens they are the big MLG representive guys ( outside of incontrol) . I can smell this rotten fish from miles away.

Just wanted to say the only reason I groan when I see there isn't a SotG this week is just because I enjoy it so much and look forward to hearing you guys discuss things. I don't feel like you guys are obligated to meet some certain criteria to please us. Thanks for all you guys do and best of luck, hope I can get my SotG fix very soon!!!!

Dude they didn't decide, "hey lets go to PAX and do a show cause then people are going to pay attention to that instead." They were all going to PAX for one reason or another and since they were all going to be there anyway do a show, you got weird conspiracy ideas man. I feel like your just trying to provoke a response.

SOTG Hosts:
Have you guys considered altering the format a bit so you guys can have the show happen on a regular schedule? Like maybe the panel changes and you guys take turns being hosts whenever you're available? There's 5 hosts -- surely one of you can make it even if the other four can't
I'd rather see a show with Nony hosting and four random community members than not have a show at all, or not knowing when the show will happen.
I used to check this thread on almost a daily basis and listen to the show live religiously. Since the schedule went apeshit, I don't think I've posted in this thread for a couple of weeks or listened to an episode live. I can't plan around it.
I love the show but the irregularity of the schedule is really hurting it.

Are you paranoid much?
Incontrol isn't going to IPL, his going to PAX as per requested from EG. Removing Incontrol from SOTG is like removing TL from the SC2 Scene. Guess where Artosis is going to be? Not at IPL either! I don't know about the other members of the cast, but I can only presume Day9 won't be there unless his spectating. You gotta' realize sponsor requests come first rather then doing an 'off-side' production like SOTG.
Even if it were JP saying no, I can fully understand. I'd rather him have a job at MLG then lose his job because he hosted a SOTG at IPL.

Absence makes the heart fonder.
SOTG is like the girlscout cookies of the esports scene. If it was available all the time, it'd be boring. + Show Spoiler +j/k, i'd still watch if it were, but the concept of not knowing when the next show will air adds to the hype!
I can imagine how difficult it must be to line up all the schedules; GL doing shows during back-to-back event season D:
