Just people trying to do something impressive for the hell of it. For MLB or NHL (not sure which) home field is won through winning the All Star game and even still it isn't taken that seriously.

Also he didn't have too bad of a rookie year. He prolly never heard of him before he got involved with this website.

Podcast was great, I totally understand what you were saying and the context that went along with it. I have read the last 5 pages of this thread and find it filled with either trolls or people who really misunderstand the intention behind words. Maybe cultural differences are to blame? Hmmm... Anyway just thought I'd post to represent probably the majority of people who don't misunderstand every SotG and who actually really love it. :D An aside: In Australia we have a culture based around facetious ironic insults of other people as terms of endearment. It's quite interesting.

All-star games are for personality NOT gameplay. There is nothing wrong with that, some people love them, and some people will never watch them, and the panel entirely missed the point. I don't get why you guys are zeroing in on Incontrol, everyone on SotG said they hated the games and didn't see the point of them, not just him. Personally I enjoyed them because I am a big fan of a lot of those players and it was nice to see them goof around in a not so serious environment, we don't get that chance very often.

Or you could argue that Incontrol likes to make fun of people, which somes times may actually hurt their feelings --> IF they laugh as a response they must think it is funny, and we are all friends --> Incontrol dont see any problems making comments on Huks height. Some people have negative associations with the word "rape" --> No one is allowed to mention that word in any context because it could hurt some peoples feelings. Well if this isn't the most poorly crafted argument I've seen in a while. Its pretty much "I am going to loosely paraphrase some of thing you said over last 5 months in an order that makes my point." Incontrol says that people are haters because they are. People are just looking for a reason to jump all over him. They hear him stay "Your an idiot" and freak out, claiming that he is calling the community and people who like "all star games" dumb. When in fact, he stated "If you think I'm an idiot for not liking the games, your an idiot". He did not say that anyone who liked the games were idiots. He was referring to a much smaller group of people who was saying he was stupid for not understanding the "spirit" of the all star games. I know that complex sentence structure is hard some folks, but its not a reason to freak out. Also, I like the ending when the word "rape" is added in for shock value. It has nothing to do with anything else in the post, but it make you sit up and take notice. Its the sign of a well thought out argument that needs some punch at the end.

From the awesome Assorted GSL statistics : So we are finally at the point where it is mathematically possible for all 32 of the original Code S players to have been replaced, and 2/3 of them already have been. Exactly 10 from Code S January remain: Nestea, HongUn, MC, Ensnare, Zenio, Kyrix, Genius, Nada, Clide, not including MVP because he fell out and came back in. (and that's 1.5 months old)I wonder if MLG can say the same. I don't mean this as a ditch to MLG, just that Day9 point was very subjective. (especially as he doesn't watch it and it wouldn't surprise me that he doesn't follow it either) The funny thing is that GSL is not an invitational, so that skill matters for surviving, while all other tourneys that day9 is praising have an invitational format, and consistently invite the same players over and over again. Well, all my posts today were criticisms about sotg, but I still love the show, I just didn't liked how they talked about something they seem to know less and less about.

But is all of this really necessary? I mean- I get it, dealing with the interwebs is nerv-wrecking at times. Especially, when you are the center of public attention and emotionally attached to the community at the same time. It is also perfectly understandable how these series yielded little to no benefit or entertainment for him. But boy, I do think the "dumb forumer" meme is getting way old. I really appreciate him talking about stuff that matters, but rants about people that rant are only that much interesting to listen to. Both sides would be better off ignoring it.

Let me make this request.. if you watch sotg and constantly find yourself upset with what we say or how we say it STOP WATCHING So what is wrong with the timing GSL chose to show their fun games? Yours is no more correct than theirs. That's pretty simple. It's not as if they had MVP and Top offrace in the finals. They chose to show games that some people would enjoy. Hopefully you can try to enjoy it next time or go find something that your believe is more productive use of your personal time.

This is a talkshow with personalities who talk about things related to SCII. Does every woman who watches the view throw a shit fit when Rosie O'Donell or Joy Whats-her-nuts doesn't know every goddamn thing about anything they talked about? I listened to the show, and they weren't horribly biased or offensive, they didn't fucking say European players are shitty or worse than Americans; I don't know what everyone's flipping out about. For fuck's sake, they're just people; they can't know everything or appeal to everyone's sensibilities. They are there to give their unique pro perspective on recent happenings in the SCII world; if you don't like their opinions, stop watching. I can't believe they continue doing this show with so many people just loving to throw shit constantly at them for sacrificing part of their tuesday to bring people a little cool content.

This reaction people have would lead some people to believe that everything incontrol says is law and that he is not allowed to have an opinion. Damn life sure sucks for him. Also for the rumors surrounding "tasteless losing his job" need to also keep in mind that MLG is becoming a season format which means that tasteless and artosis would have to travel back and forth from MLG <=> GSL quite alot or they can quit gom and join MLG?

Ok, i did not actually listen to the episode as it has got kinda boring as of late, and it seems like someone in an earlier post misquoted incontrol I dont think there is anything wrong with what he said there, so my bad. However this doesn't change that incontrol is a hypocrite. The rape/huk example was just an example of Incontrol not understanding how he should actually behave if he wants to follow his own moral which he wants destiny and other streamers to follow. Its a similiar situation because he advices never to say something which could hurt other peoples feeling. And incontrol obv. lacks understandings of human behaviour when he thinks Huk laughing = everything is fine and we are all friends.
