episode 24!
Some of the oldest episodes are the best. The entire vibe of the show is much more relaxed and casual: InControl is less diplomatic and funnier, Day9 is chattier, and they just talk about the mindset and lifestyle of professional gaming more.
Episode 12: The episode where InControl explains to Psy who the fuck Artosis is. Instant Classic.
Episode 13: TLO, back when he was playing in Korea and the OGS House is the guest. Geoff does a classic TLO impersonation that falls apart after in the first ten minutes. They also talk about Fruitdealer's GSL win, and mindset players have when going into a tournament, and Boxer starting to play SC2.
I had hoped it wouldn't happen but it has. People bitching about them talking about MLG despite the fact that it was 2 days after MLG when they had recorded it. They also spent a lot of time talking about the upcoming patch notes. JP clearly had a longer list of things to talk about but they were all exhausted and just ran out of time.

Before anyone except Tyler or Sean says his opinion they preface it with "and 100 people on a forum are going to bitch at me for this" and then all do some impression of a forum idiot. I'd prefer it if you guys just kept that bullshit out of the show and gave your opinions straight up, because you're all pro players who know so much more than 99.99% of the Starcraft playing population.
Usually. It would be nice you guys had digested the patch notes a little bit more as it seems many of you hadn't completely read or considered the changes when you started talking about them. Knowing that workers would be basically unable to run from HSM now is one of those things you guys should know before you come on the show and talk about the notes I think.
Just my 2 cents. Maybe I am whining too much. I always enjoy the show no matter what!
SotG inception, someone whining about the whining about the whining. It's not irony but it's what people think irony is.

All the first episodes, and recently the first episode of incontrol's return, it was one of the best. (it's 2 or 3 episodes back) The episode of the patch when shakuras plateau was introduced was excellent too.

Yeah sure, MLG was just a few days ago. Yet the focus on MLG and topics surrounding MLG has gotten way, way more airtime now that JP is working for Major League Gaming. They talked more about the MLG groups a couple of weeks ago than the GSL and EU Blizzard invitational. Even IEM was only brushed upon while there's talk about the MLG pools almost every single episode.
I don't mind that much but i'd rather hear more about different tournaments instead of the MLG focus, especially when it's only about pools and not the actual tournament.

Exactly.
No one had anything against the MLG talk in the Week before it and after it... As long as there was as much talk about Dreamhack/Assembly/IEM and last but not least GSL.
But from the last few episodes I listened too? MLG is like 3-4 weeks away and a bigger topic than Assembly which just or was just about to happen. This would be fine, if the MLG would actually be the better tournament, but it just isn't except for the bigger Korean involvement (but assembly had Nada... and Huk)... Same with IEM... Now you can argue, well the Koerans make it more important.. But then they should talk more about the GSL? ...
I don't really like the format of going through each group of any tournament. It feels a little forced to me. I'd rather they look at the groups and talk about anything that stands out to them. I dunno, I just don't like the whole predictions thing in general.

They are americans who are all highly involved with MLG, theyre obviously gonna discuss it more than things not as many of them are that involved in.

Or it's that JP got hired by MLG and they sponsor the show now. It's good they are getting paid to do it but it's kinda sad when one MLG pool gets more mention than the whole of Assembly or IEM.
What exactly makes MLG better than Assembly, Dreamhack or IEM?
Oh, except for the hype and the on average worse play aside from the participating koreans.
+the many important but not showed games. +the pure rapes in poolplay because of the ridiculous pointsystem (which will hopefully get fixed). +the low pricepool.

I wouldn't mind if it, together with the GSL, was the only tournament they talked about in length on SotG.
I respect your opinion but i see no real difference between DH, IEM and MLG. The level of play is certainly not higher as most of the best players travel to both competitions.
I'm not saying they should spend no time on MLG. Just less time on pools and maybe some more time on epic games and tournaments abroad.
It's the extremely slow paced format of this show that has put me off watching it recently. Whatever topic that they are looking at, instead of letting questions and answers flow naturally, and allowing people to speak when they have something to say, questions are broken down into sub-questions and the same question is answered in turn by everyone, person by person. It seems forced, methodical and unnatural.
I would prefer a more fluid presentation. It's a question of moderation and how the show is put together. People should be allowed to speak out of turn to an extent, and it's not necessary for every single person to have to give their opinion to every single question.
