I've noticed the TL forums and community are really devolving into a shadow of what it once was, something much more like the official blizzard forums. Before release this would be(and still should be) considered a massive insult. I haven't been posting long, but I've been lurking long enough to know that TL used to be full of people who could apply a little bit of critical thinking towards a situation, And easily be able to avoid falling into the hyperbolic, mud-slinging, epeen measuring that the mass of users of the internet are faced with every day. But frankly it's pretty easy to see the degredation, and a claim like such isn't so far fetched. Much like the blizzard forums people are jumping on every damn thing they see that might stir a little drama. People make no effort to determine the veracity of a claim. Any claim, good or bad. It's much like the masses of people we see in across the web, always moving with the ebb and flow(usually flowing when they should be ebbing, mind you) instead of thinking for themselves. No offense and as harsh as it might sound, these forums aren't worth much for gaining insight anymore, and what few good people have to give, like the SotG, is bent to sound like insults or ludicrous shenanigans in order to further fuel the flames and keeps things dramatic. My suggestion: pretty much whats already happening. More and more bans. Probably less temp, more perm would be ideal though. TL should be a place when rational thought isn't a minority.

I think the real answer is for iNcontroL, or any others on the SotG to ignore a good 90% of the people on these forums, instead of acknowledging the shit that's people feel the need to spew. Dwelling on it is only going to be bad, and further instigate rediculous behavior. didn't they come to that conclusion at the end of last podcast anyway? ![]()

Basically Inc was proven dead wrong about the casters for gsl. (Well for the most part). So what, everyone of us is wrong every day of the week. But he *was* wrong. And that's the point if you go around trash talking things/people, occasionally you're going to have it shoved back in your face. The welcome irony from it all though, is that in many ways inc could learn from Lee and Idra.

Xeqtr on the other hand said about 10 words on a 10dB level. And today just spent the entire game bashing on players for being bad (he himself isn't good, is he?) Edit : Also please keep it up with the asian accent it really tickles me <3 no homo

But the problem is he could be reciting the user's manual for a rhubarb peeler and do just as great a job at sounding like a sportscaster.

And on TL.NET the general consensus is that actually, he and Idra were pretty good. Which is quite far from being 'Freaking terrriiible' (said in whatever peculiar rural sounding american twang Inc has).

Wait, an objective way of quantifying the subjective is to look at popular appeal? Celine Dion - the greatest musician ever?

This is a bit of a strawman retort don't you think? It's not a case of finding 'some' people, but rather a broad sample of a hardcore (and typically hard to please) community. It's not impossible to say anything negative, but it is hard to justify those negative views when the bulk of the audience to who those views are directed, disagree. Not that that in itself is even a problem, after all Copernicus's views weren't too highly regarded despite being right. But in this case you came out with some strong negative views, and it seems that those views are supported by only a small number of people. So if nothing else you have to accept that (if you still believe what you said) you're holding a minority view. And generally if everyone says the sky is blue and you're sitting there saying nah man, that be brown. You have to do better to justify why you think that is. I don't think you did, or subsequently have done, a good job of justifying your views. At least Copernicus had science and mathematics on his side.
