Is there a way to hide your online status?

It's nice to have friends and all, but sometimes you just don't want them to know you're online (nor block them). I noticed that some casters occasionally fumble with their settings whenever someone messages them at a bad time, but I never quite figured out what it is they actually do.

Dont think you can go to "offline" mode so friends dont see you, what they do is set there status to busy so they dont see whispers in-game. But there friends can still see them in game.

I don't think you can hide your online status, but you can put yourself to Busy and that blocks all incoming messages (which is what you see casters do).

I also wonder about this. Sometimes I just want to play the goddamn campaign or a quickmatch without people messaging me during busy parts of the game.

for watching replays, you can also play as a guest, which will keep you offline, and you can watch replays in peace w/o friends feeling like you're ignoring them =P

you could always go with my friends way of dealing with this situtation, have 1 sc2 account to play with your girl friend and 1 sc2 account to ladder with lol.

Yeah, I dont think that there is a feature implimented for that. I believe that if you set your status as busy that it will block any incoming messages. That's about it, it seems.

One of my practice buddies got owned by his wife when we massed gamed one day. apparently he told her he was running errands. We were playing and in the middle of a battle and i got some sweet storms off that he just ran into because his wife was yelling at him on bnet and he couldnt micro.

Does selecting "busy" notify the person trying to message you that you did not receive the message? Or do you just get it when you come back from being busy?

You have been able to set yourself to hidden on most communications programs for almost as long as I remember, so I don't really understand Blizzards motive for not having that option. It's not a big deal, but it's another small thing that adds to the battle.net 2.0 frustration.
