The very first game of starcraft 2 I ever played I got proxy gated by my "friend". I almost never played again
The first time I ever played starcraft, another "friend" of mine thoutght it would be fun to fill the entire map with cannons.
If you want your friends to play starcraft, play a few games of 2v2 against computer or other noobs, dont do a 1v1 and cheese or humiliate them.

First game of SC2 ever, go to the menu to adjust settings, close the menu (or so I think) and press s for SCV, bang, surrender. This was in Beta but still.
|
Soon after release, I was doing 2v2 games with a friend, we were in platinum and working our way up to diamond (we were diamond in beta). We thought it might be useful to check allied control for the first time since we wanted to better coordinate our attacks and defenses. "No harm in trying it." Well apparently there is.
Early in the game I was clicking around randomly on his buildings for no particular reason besides APM, I guess. With his first pylon selected I tapped ESC because I'm used to deselecting targets with ESC in other games. Well, I cancelled his pylon...oops! So his gateway was super late and he got 10 pooled. FML.

Probably the game where I spent the whole game fighting off carriers, but being unable to kill him, with the game ending the moment I actually didn't wipe his army of carriers on DO. It was then as I was going to type GG, that I accidentally click my hydralisk den (I went mass hydra), and realized I never researched range.

how's that possible? you cant control buildings, only their units/abilities
like many have said before my worst moments have been when i realised that id set my cc rally point to a probe.
|
As Zerg, my base cluttered with units because I didn't rally.
I wanna spawn larva on my hatch, and click instead of using my hotkey.
30sec later, I got an overseer chilling in my base and 0 larvaes.

Get rally point of probe on a vespen and check 5 mn later that i have 15 probe mining gaz ....

I ask the guy if I can pause to answer a skype call, he says yes, so I press F10 and instead of pause I miss and click surrender.

Worst thing ever...
Was playing a 2v2 game with my roommate, and it ended up being me with a probe building a nexus in the middle of nowhere, my roommate with 8 mutalisks and nothing else, one enemy with one void ray and a forge, no probes, nothing else.
Clearly we would win. It was basically 8 mutalisks vs 1 void ray...
I decided that it would be smart to reposition the nexus to some minerals, so instinctively, my hand pressed ESC..... Cancelled nexus... no buildings left... Defeat....
FML.
Edit: Game was about an hour long. A huge waste of time... I raged a bit at myself after this...

I played zerg against a terran and it had progressed lategame. I had fully teched zerglings and ultras and had killed all his structures besides his flying CC. He started talking to me about strategy and I began to help him and ignore my economy and production. Turns out he was building 20 cloaked banshees on an island base. FML

Today I played a 1v1 and got 2 warpgates in my base (forgot to scout them ) : ) I managed to defend this with a bunker and some marine micro - but I lost about ~15 scv to a total of 5. I tried to catch up and the game went on - somehow I manged to get my exp running and my army infront of his base (he was still on 1 base) At that time I noticed some "shades" running into my base - yes! DTs are coming ) : I had to retreat and defended them again! (I lost about 10 scvs and a few depots) I had to back up and wait till I got some turrets and my raven. So I saved my gold - he attacked with a few collossi, phoenix and zealot/stalker mix. I lost my PF at the gold but managed to kill his entire army with ~130 food left. After that I was on my way to crush his base... but got dc'd (no that was no dc hack )
FML!

2. In that same game, I see my opponent FE, so I drop a forge in my base instantly and put a pylon behind his mineral line at his nat. I click on the forge to see it's almost done, just warping in. Instead of hitting 1 (probe), I hit ESC and cancel the forge. FML.
Something similar happened to me a while ago the first week of release.
I was mined out in my main, and my natural was extremely over saturated. I was constantly being pressured so I forgot to take a quicker third. The Nexus was going up at the gold and I put it in my Nexus hotkey since it was almost done. I qued up a few probes with my other to so I can begin to saturate the nearly done Nexus. I qued up a few too many, and without thinking hit ESC to cancel some...you can imagine what got canceled 3 seconds before finishing. I'll give you a hint...
It wasn't a probe.

heh. my first game was like that. my first 1v1 was against a friend who not only blocked my expo with a bunker but also put tanks on the ledge when i finally got it up :c

You can't construct units with eachother's buildings because it's not your money to spend, but you can certainly cancel eachother's buildings. Or at least you could on the date I did it.

Yeah one of my retarded friends did that to me back in beta when we played 2v2s.

I just played a PvP. I am fairly confident in it, with about 50% win ratio. i'm going along, and I am probably the most OCD person about not having enough probes. i know my timings for my build, but i just keep getting slowed, and cannot afford ANYTHING. I look at my opponents base and he has 9 zealots, 9 stalkers, and 9 colossi compared to my 5 zealots, 5 stalkers, 4 immortals, and 3 sentries. I was like HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!?
Then, i happened to be clicking randomly around my base and realized that i was rallied to my assimilator, not a mineral patch. I built 34 probes, and he built 23.
So the lesson of the day is - "No matter how many probes you have, rallying to a vespene gyser never helps your cause..."
