Hey everyone. I need to know which aspect ratios are the most popular, as my load screens are dependent on it. What aspect ratio do you play SC2 on?

Aren't there advantages in using a 16 monitor compared to a 16:10?
|
1280x800 is 16:10, not 5:4.. 1280x1024 is 5:4.

Personally I prefer 16:10, it has more screen area and fullscreen 4:3 videos look better. I think it's mostly personal preference.

16 gets a slight viewing area advantage in Starcraft II.

I prefer 16:10 but you get more viewing space under 16:9 for sc2 which is odd because it's usually the other way around.

Whatever, you know what i mean

After a while of having a widescreen monitor, I couldn't imagine anything but 16:10. Everything just seems.....odd compared to that.

1440 x 900, I play in 16
|
16:10, but I use my 40" samsung tv as my main monitor. my dual screen is a 22" samsung monitor

1920 x 1080 on a 24" LG.
I haven't played on any other resolutions.. does widescreen/non-widescreen change the total viewable terrain, or do things just looked squished in non-widescreen action?

Could you play on 800x600? I thought the min was 1024x768

SC2 is optimized for 16-9. You see more horizontally than any other res. You also see the same vertically as any other. 16:10 is very close, so no worries. 4:3 and, god-forbid, 5:4 users are hurting a bit. If you have a 1280x1024 LCD and want the widescreen advantage try to figure out a way to letterbox your display so you can do 1280x720 or 1280x800.

Why is it called 16:10 anyways, logic dictates that it would be 8:5 seeing as you go for the lowest common denominator, but I digress. 16 here, I´m as standard as you could get.
