This is just simply all the maps, from top down, that you can play in sc2, image hosting isn't too fond of ultra high res so the embedded files are super large 4096px wide each and ~5MB per picture so i wouldn't open more then one at a time.

If there are any problems like i accident posted the noob version or an old version just pm me it's hard because blizzard doesn't name their maps right or show version numbers anywhere.

I'll upload a lossless png version that is ~600mb on megaupload later

edit:Organized it into 1v1 and 2v2 maps there is no overlap anymore in game with the removal of Lost Temple, Metalopolis, and Kulas Ravine from the 2v2 pool.

Which ladders is the Arid Waste map in?

I haven't seen it before in 1v1 and it doesn't seem very symmetrical to be a 2v2 map...

It wasn't too hard after the map editor came out all i did was go find out where the sc2 map files were stored which blizzard conveniently placed it under
AppData\Local\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache\
and shoved like 300 files in there all pretty much randomly named with no significance to say what is what.

but all i did was search for .s2ma (which is what the maps are called apparently not sc2map like you get out of the editor)

you can't open s2ma files so i just changed the extension it sc2map

opened it in the map editor and used the publish map image or w.e

some maps where missing 1 2 or 300 apparently doodads but i didn't see any visual issues.

blizzard really wants you to have fun with the maps lol freaking hidden like hell yo.

Yet it is a 2v2 map probably because of forced start locations at the top or bottom for teams sort of like twilight fortress.

It's actually pretty symmetrical if you look a bit better at the map, as far as SC2 maps go ;'d.

Cut the map in half. Each piece is the same. Its not mirrored.

Yeah they really should have added the new maps to 1v1 ladder, but I guess Blizz really want people to do more balance testing in 2v2...

Yeah these aren't even kulas/LT/meta type 4p maps they're specialist 2v2 maps where you'll probably spawn next to each other if you play 1v1, like twilight fortress.

Only Kulas left : / worst of the 4p maps.

The only changes to 1v1 that i noticed is the addition of destructible wall to the natural of scrap station, I would do a version comparison but the only way i can tell version difference is though the date the file was created and frankly without properly named files and they are just littered everywhere in folders with in folders etc blizzard really doesn't want me messing with it lol just all a pain in the ass.

With four different division in retail (1v1,2v2,3v3,4v4) I think we will start to see a lot more maps designed specifically for team play of a given size, and 1v1 play.

update:I hosted all the maps again with just the build zones showing, i'll host the maps without those grids soon

imageshack prob is the easiest allows me to host files up to 5mb without resizing but ionno about bandwidth restrictions. i just avoid imageshack usually because some ppl get issues with it.

update: got the 2 versions of each map back up but these images are huge ~5MB each and 4096px wide so i wouldn't open more then one at a time.

I'll look to host the png version on megaupload later today.

the map wasnt removed i think.. it was only removed from map rotation. But how can i do this on vista32? i do a search for *.sc2map and i get nothing =[

RE: arid wastes

This map has considerable differences between the various bases. For one, the bottom natural is farther from the cliff than the top natural. This makes for a better location to place a double proxy gate:

you can also slip flying units along the cliff between this nat and the bot left main much easier than the top base counterpart.
