I somehow manage to clear random hatchery waypoints ALL the time while I'm playing and this is absolutely infuriating when it costs you the game or makes them unnecessarily difficult. The only way I've been able to reproduce this is via right clicking the hatchery, and, I don't see myself right clicking my hatch at the frequency this occurs -- is there something else that could be doing this?


Anyone else have this issue?

I've had this problem a few games, I figured I just hot keyed my units over the keys

I've had this happen a bunch of times too... I always thought I was just an idiot and messed up/misclicked, but maybe I can blame it on a bug.... ;D

Happens to me on average once a game. Kind of annoying, but I'm chalking this up to control-mistake on my part.

Happens to me as well, no idea what causes this. However, it only happens when I play Zerg.

Same, I think every 1 in 5 games I manage to get my rally points messed up.

Sometimes even drone rally points, like I would go to a hatchery and suddenly there are 5 drones doing nothing and the mineral rally point has just disappeared (and yes I had set it earlier)

I always assumed that it was me screwing them up, but still haven't figured out yet why.

(probably it has something to do with injecting larva to sloppy causing me to misclick stuff)

Most likely just missed right clicks if I had to guess. This happens to me occasionally as well.

Yea...this has happened to me before when some of my hotkeys just disappear. I play protoss and it's really infuriating when the hotkey that contains all my nexuses and buildings just get erased. Every time that happens I have to spend a good 10 or so seconds rehotkeying everything. I've been chalking that up to control/hotkey mistakes on my part but if it actually is a bug then it should be fixed.

Maybe queens and hatches grouped together? and injecting larva then right click and extra time when it can not be cast?

Between this and right clicking my hotkey groups by accident, ill lose whole games just to those two fucking me up.

I had 1 game out of my 150ish where my rally points and hotkeys WOULD NOT work and like drones were going to my military rally

it was so annoying but only a 1 time thing

this happens almost once every game but I just assumed it was me pressing the "R" key instead of "5" and then left clicking my hat when nothing happens

Hey this happened to me more than I'm comfortable admitting until I figured out what was up... I was using BW patterns and so selecting a hatchery and sddd ctrl-4 or whatever, thinking that I was hotkeying the hatchery after making my drones, but now sddd actually ends with you just selecting the eggs, and so they get hotkeyed instead. Then later I'd hit 4s to grab larve and instead issue a stop command to my drones. I wish this was the stupidist thing I've done in the beta =)

I think 'R' is the hotkey to set the rally point, so you're probably accidentally hitting R and then clicking the hatchery when you intend to spawn larva.

rally point hotkey is y, i have no idea why since r was fine in BW. I've never experienced this bug, its mostly me just right clicking with the hatch selected

also in SC2 you can select buildings with your units, so you may have had your hatch selected and then you shift added some units, and while you were ordering your units around it was also setting the rally of your hatch

In over 400 games played this has never happened to me once. I mean I might mislick where to put it but I don't actually "reset" it. I'm assuming you guys don't hotkey your queens but your hatches instead and misclick when you try to select her and press R on your hatches. Start hotkeying those queens!

Sometimes I accidentally merge two control groups with eachother (often queens/hatches + mutas, and then I have rally points in the middle of the opponent's base and queens walking everywhere). I have NO idea how I manage to do this, since pressing shift and then 1 doesn't select group 1 with whatever units you have selected. It's just impossible to merge two control groups but I still manage to do it.

I've never yet managed to reset my rally points though.

Probably already been said, but are you sure you re-set your rally points after you added a new hatch to the control group? Sometimes I don't and thus the new hatch doesn't have any rally points set.

Pressing shift and 1 adds whatever units you have selected to group 1

For example:
You have 12 marines in control group 1 and 6 marauders in control group 2. You press 2 to select your 6 marauders and then you press shift 1. Your 6 marauders are still the only units you have selected. However, if you press 1 you will now have 12 marines and 6 marauders selected (you have merged your control groups)

Ive had issues with this as well playing with zerg. No clue what happens though and sometimes makes me rage losing a match because of it.

Also, if you right click anything you have selected onto one of those icons at the bottom for your control groups. You automatically add (or replace, unsure) the units to control group. This could be some of the issues you guys are having
I'm Norwegian/Dutch. Just the awesome parts of them though :D

happens to me, i blame it on accidentally changing controlgroups by rightclicking on those numbers which happens way too often to me.

worst thing is overwriting my queenhotkeys, it takes ages to recollect them all into 1 group in lategame.

What I find annoying is that the rally is set with just a right click. What exactly is the rally point button for then?

As while microing back of forth with army and production buildings / nexus I often end up right clicking to move the army while I have some building selected, which completely destroys the game unless I notice it. I'd rather not have right click to set rally point and instead press the hotkey for it.
I can no longer rest under the tree of wisdom, since you have axed down the roots feeding it.

if you right click your hatchery (while having it selected), your rally points will reset. I don't know that a bug doesn't exist, but I can see how this might be a misclick.

honestly i just assume it's because i'm bad, and i misclick every now and then when i'm injecting larva. i have never had a rally point issue with T or P though.
watch a replay and let us know if it really is a bug, i'm a bit skeptical haha =]

Never had this happen and if it did it was my own fault as Zerg.

Protip: Terran buildings that take off and land lose their rally point and you must redo the rally point.

I thought I was the only one!

It happens when I try to larval inject, but I don't have enough energy just yet, so I have to right click somewhere to get my command cursor back. Sometimes, I just right click too many times on the hatchery and it just resets.

I wonder if its worth fixing, but it definitely happens to me too many times =(

I've been having a problem similar to those in this thread. I've noticed that if I am rallying my workers or units (Y+left-click) about 25% of the time the cursor will still be in "select rally point" mode after I click, which means, if I don't notice it, that the next place I click will end up being the new rally point. I still haven't figured out why this happens and it really slows me down having to constantly check if I am still in rally point select mode or not.

i often see my rally points deleted but i'm pretty sure it comes from a mistake from my part at some point.

What happens to me is when I have no Larvae out and I click S and follow up with R for Roaches, I instead set a new worker rally point. This obviously didn't happen pre-patch. What happened to S selecting eggs when there were no Larvae around? That was actually useful to prevent shit like this.

happens to me quite a bit, I'm a toss player. So many times i press my hotkey for my nexus and think im building probes. Then when i try to chronoboost a building i realize that my hotkey was reset to something else. Happens too often, like every two games. I figure its just me mistakenly resetting it somehow, but now that i think about it, i never had this problem in bw....

Copy paste from what I wrote in blizz EU forum (updated):

After patches 9/10 as a zerg you will end up selecting the "set worker rallypoint" when spamming "S R" for making roaches. Thus you will end up clicking rallypoints all over the map where you didnt intend to do so if you dont constantly deselect it by rightclicking, but in a hasty situation its likely that you wont always do this.

The problem obviously is that the "set worker rallypoint" hotkey is "R", the same key as for building roaches. To be honest I have never used the "set worker rallypoint" in any situation, since I simply rightclick on minerals/gas instead. Changing this rallypoint to some other key (a key that isnt a key for any other unit that is) obviously would solve this problem.

If you dont play Zerg and havnt experienced this problem yourself you might be questioning if this really is a problem? Well let me paint you a scenario. If a zerg has 7 hatches with 4 queens he will produce alot of larva, and when new larvas spawn constantly it makes sense to spam "S R" to keep producing new roaches every second new larvas spawn. Spamming will eventually lead to selecting the "set worker rallypoint". Selecting this rally point by mistake can easily result in setting it where you obviously dont want it to be, for example if you want to select a bunch of units in the battlefield (by left clicking). Alot of unnecessary time and effort will then go to placing the rally point back to where you actually want it to be, and if drones happend to spawn during the time where that rally point was missplaced you just lost alot of mining time etc..

Same problem with grid hotkeys, just with different hotkey/unit (hydra).


Edit: As others have pointed out there also is a hotkey conflict with overlord (V) and ventral sacs (V). Upgrading ventral sacs is something you do max once a game and for all I care its hotkey could be on any button that isnt a hotkey of a unit. When it comes to the "set worker rallypoint" hotkey, well thats a hotkey that you (if it isnt unintentionally ofcourse) use zero times during a game (since you use the rightclick like stated above) so it makes even less sense to keep that hotkey as "R". Even if they eventually make customkeys available it wouldnt make any sense keeping this as standard hotkeys.

Obviously there shouldnt be any hotkey conflicts between units/upgrades/rallypoints at the hatchery and changing the hotkeys can be done just like that. Im surprised this hasnt gotten any real repsonse yet, last time I checked the US forums that was the case aswell. If blizzard just becomes aware of this (I honestly cant imagine them not being aware of this by now though) this should get fixed with the next patch.

Yup I've had this problem as zerg, hopefully blizzard fixes that.

I believe 2 right clicks will set the worker rally point unless you click on resources. One right click will set the normal rally point or the worker rally point if you click on resources.

I'm still doing this and it's really really annoying.
I'm sure it has something to do with the way I spam when injecting but the way I play it happens really often.

Has anyone figured out a way to change the hotkeys or something so that this doesn't happen?

i thought it was something to do with my bad injects or when creating units u press s beforhand and s is also on units stop hotkey, so maybe gonna try binding stop to another key
