Secondly I wanted to think out loud about some stuff I saw in D9D#153 about reactor timing. Reactor build time 50s Marine build time 25s Assuming constant production and counting from the moment you build the reactor: A reactor barracks is weakest compared to naked barracks from 50s to 1m15s when the reactor is 2 marines down. From 1m15s to 1m40s the reactor is 1 marine down. At 1m40s the reactor equalises and then gets progressively further ahead. To put it in more human terms: If you build a reactor and finish 2 production cycles of marines without being in a fight, your reactor timing was good. In the case of the specific game you were commentating the problem was made worse for Morrow because he double reactored and so was missing up to 4 marines when the push came. But given that the toss might have chosen not to push delaying the reactors also has it's risks. Perhaps a way to get both reactors up fast while avoiding having such a sharp drop in production at any point would be to reactor 1 rax at a time?

I've been watching since you did some commentaries on the Blizzard Battle Reports for SC2 and your enthusiasm for starcraft was so infectious that you got me back playing SC1. Then, as I played, I found your understanding of the game and skill as a communicator made me a much better player than I was back in the day plsu it's really helped me begin playing SC2. Thanks muchly and keep it up. Secondly I wanted to think out loud about some stuff I saw in D9D#153 about reactor timing. Perhaps a way to get both reactors up fast while avoiding having such a sharp drop in production at any point would be to reactor 1 rax at a time? I think the major problem that day9 has with reactors, especially in the early game, is that you can simply build another barracks instead of a reactor and get a better production of early units (you can make 2 marines in the time it takes to make a reactor, then 10 seconds after your reactor wouldve finished you have 2 barracks instead with the same production speed as that one with a reactor). Because you dont need 50-100 gas for 1 or 2 reactors, you can delay a 2nd refinery which gives you 3 more SCV's mining minerals and 75 more minerals from not building it which gives the resources needed to add on another barracks or two. Eventually adding on some addons is good, but in the very early game I am not sure if it is entirely worth it. I am not a terran player or day9, so this is just my take on it. Also, in regards to the first game on D9D #153 with MorroW vs Socke, I think that Socke made the initial stargate anticipating a mech opening from MorroW, which is why he made the push with only 1 phoenix. Then, once he completely realized that MorroW was going a full bio build he responded initially by thinking, "oh crap, I need to get some templar to handle the ghosts and bio ball". Shortly after, he probably realized he didnt really have time to get to templar (or that he did in fact have a robo down, so he could put down the robo bay) so he changed to the much easier colossus.

I think he also made a point that if you have several naked barracks you can easily add on either tech labs or reactors when you realise how your opponent is reacting so you can make the appropiate response.

Concerning D9D#154: A lot of players forget about Hallucination when they go for Blink Stalkers, I like to use hallucinated Phoenixes, and also use hallucinated Zealots with 1 or 2 real ones to make a fake attack at the front before I blink my stalkers into the base. Also, hallucination works great till you get your robo, and yet still has many uses, I have found that using Hallucinated zealots within your own Zealots is a world of difference. Hallucinate Zealot makes 3 Zealots, that's pretty intense not to abuse when you go heavy on zealots or anything that relies heavily on zealots. Hallucinated Zealots when you go zeal/ht is wild, not only will less Zealots be hurt by your own storms, but you will seem to have more Zealots, those of which are usually the real ones since your hallucinations soaked up most of the initial brunt.

I was somewhat thinking this, but then the erroneous twilight council would make even less sense if he had the original plan to force marines so he can make colossus, and I dont think that MorroW had seen the stargate at all, so the phoenix was a bit of a surprise (a good surprise, since he was already going bio)

zomg p90x is garbage! If you want a real workout program with scientific backing and proven results look into getting Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe and Infinite Intensity by Ross Enamait!

How many lower-body compound movements are recommended in the program? What kind of training intervals are recommended during the "cardio" portion? How many low-rep, high-weight movements and how often? What kind of progression is recommended and is the program tailored for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels as you progress? Does the guy in the videos offer form advice for each exercise? How long are you supposed to rest between workouts and why? Look forward to hearing your response!

Not really the place to discuss the p90x workout... all I have to say is all of that is covered in the DVDs and or interviews blah blah blah. Don't watch only part two of the videos before dismissing it next time. On topic: Still no zerg love ![]()

If you keep lifting weights and shit you'll only gain bulk without really burning fat efficiently, you have to get some cardio in to do that. This p90x shit sounds like questionable late night infomercial stuff to me. Anyways, keep up the good work, loving the dailies.
