Anyone know who I could talk to (and how) to try and get unbanned? I'm not quite sure who did it, unfortunately.

This daily gave me a lot of ideas, thanks.

I'm curious because I only watched part of two of the videos before dismissing it. How many lower-body compound movements are recommended in the program? What kind of training intervals are recommended during the "cardio" portion? How many low-rep, high-weight movements and how often? What kind of progression is recommended and is the program tailored for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels as you progress? Does the guy in the videos offer form advice for each exercise? How long are you supposed to rest between workouts and why? Look forward to hearing your response!
Firstly, I'd like to see some scientific articles on Starting Strength for my own education, otherwise 'backed by science' is likely the same science driving other programs and probably rooted in general human physiology. However, after a month of P90X, I think have a good handle on it.
Next, the questions: - There are squats, lunges, aplenty of stretching. Few, if any that work one obscure muscle. It's a solid lower body routine (If my DOMS is any evidence), and IMHO, having a bar on your back is a little annoying to me at my personal level. Some of it is body weight, others use weights or bands.
- I haven't done the Cardio specifically, but any workout, your HR should be up anyway (heart rate monitor is recommended multiple times). I don't think interval training is really prevalent here.
- There is flexibility to do reps over resistance; the program functions magnificently as a catalogue and guide for things to do on a workout, but it's emphasized repeatedly to work at your own pace, hit the pause button for breaks, etc., but at the same time, there's an emphasis to keep moving and not let the HR drop too much.
- You can do it as a beginner, but it will be hard to maintain good form and do >3 reps on the later exercises. In the first month, you have 3 weeks of the same workout schedule, plus a quick Ab workout afterwards.
- Demonstrations are provided, as well as things to lessen / intensify exercises (one legged pushups, adjusted postures, etc.)
- Following the normal calendar, you get one day to rest or stretch. I actually did the stretch for the first time (although there should be warmup stretches in all), and regret not doing it on the offdays. There are variations on the default calendar, though, and you can opt to have more cardio days or some other stuff I haven't looked through (I picked it up and went, gogogo).
Starting strength is solid. You can't really go wrong starting with either, but P90X is clearly aimed at a more experienced audience. They both have a strong following, and there's really no reason to proclaim one over the other as they both have their strengths and benefits.

|
Gonna ask a non sc2 related question here
Just watched daily numer 135 (Brat_OK part 1 : The TvP Special) , the one where Day[9] is feeling depressed ^^ At the beginning he plays a song to set the mood and i was wondering if anyone knows what the name of that song is? It starts around the 5 minute mark..

It's the beginning of a song called Murcof - Rostro (Remembranza album)
Trying to keep a running playlist of the songs from D9D over at http://day9fan.com/day9playlist
I don't get all of them, but I try and get as many of them as I can :D
Cheers

Are my eyes deceiving me or is Daily #157 scheduled for Friday (on the TL calendar)? Even more Daily action before the beta goes back down?
edit: nvm, got removed

Day9, I was watching your Q&A video and you were talking about realid at the end. You do know that they decided not to go through with that right?
|
I asked the devs about Day9's idea of increasing supply cap to 300 and Dustin Browder answered that performance is one huge consideration they have about supply cap and that he didn't think many comps could handle 300/300 armies in 4v4...
edit : To clarify, I asked them in the chat session http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=132653
|
The next time someone asks me what kind of ice cream I'd like I'm going to respond with "Something Zerg flavoured please."
|
Probably a thing that can be toyed with over time, as computers are going to be much faster in 2-3 years.
But keep in mind that with 300 supply that might have implications for the balancing of units as well.

The beta ends Monday. How is the 6 day tournament cast going to work? Replays?

Must be. Only way it'll work. Great Daily tonight. Of course, they're always great.

Woow.. Day[9] officially just scared the shit out of me.
So I paused his daily off blip and went and played a few matches. I played PvT and won and was watching the replay.. for some unknown reason the pause timed out on the daily and day[9] starts talking about "if you're doing a marine marauder ghost push early on.." over the replay and i was like "WTF".. i'm wearing headphones which added to the 'voice in my head' kind of scenario.
well played day[9] well played..

Love Day9 being slick about showing off that hair band. Nice. Also made me get Blue Sky Black Death. That's all I've been listening to. Stay cool man.
Also, yeah, I've had the Day9 in my head moment. Had the stream open when he started testing his camera, but I forgot it was up. Couldn't figure out why Day was suddenly talking in my brain.
