day9, you are awesome dude. we are the same generation, both raised on sc. long time reader of these forums and barely post ......but the least i must do is thank you for the awesome opinions of a fellow analytical gamer. hope you never give this up because your fanbase will only continue to grow imo because you are in a class of your own here.
Edit: Apparently alot of the entries on the front page have alot more votes then day9's friend. Its sad because alot of them are really awful compared to some that are caught in the back.
I believe your problem with the word "counter" is people use it as a verb and not a noun.
Saying: high templars counter mass marines = bad.
Saying: high templars were part of that player's counter to mass marines = good.
I'm still a bit confused by the terms "response" and "force". I just see it as action --->reaction. Where actions can be producing units of a specific type, teching a certain way, positioning units, taking an expansion etc etc. Units are simply actions--- You PRODUCE THEM.

Bob Ross is awesome. You are awesome. If you want to do an entire cast in the style of Bob Ross, I'll support you. Do it as some one-off deal, similar to the combat-ex cast. You would make my summer.
Hello Team Liquid, this is my first post here and I wanted to share a message I sent to day[9] just now, it is concerning the latest daily #153. It's a pretty nice one and didn't want it to die in a mountain of unread messages so I'll leave it here too.
Nietzsche is not a nihilist! Around the 28 minute mark, you comment that the life of an SCV chasing a probe down has no meaning. You remark that this scenario is "Nietzsche-like"! I find it to be profoundly un-nietzschean.
This is the best interpretation readily available on the internet in my opinion. Don't want you to run to a library just to end such a pedestrian argument, after all.
What would be great is that you do Nietzsche's philosophy justice in your next cast. I would frame your countenance in my room if you were to do so (and provide pictures).
Thank you for your time.
I hope to contribute more gamer-y things in the future I promise.

Welcome to TL, but not sure if that really matters :o

day9 gave totally wrong name to forcing because forcing is a term that already exists, force forces a response else u lose just like u have to fix a king in danger, it doesnt have anything to do with blindly choosing what to do
blindly choosing or building just means abusing medigame or using general mindgame. so thats more like what day 9 really meant, hes making decisions without actually responding to something he scouted, aka assume or abuse
another example of forcing is building a banshee forcing(!) zerg users to spend money on anti air else they lose, it doesnt have to catch him offguard and it doesnt only work if hes not prepared, its a simple way of using a window of time to push (or force if u may) ur opponent into doing something he didnt want to do at that moment, doesnt have anything to do with doing damage directly, just indirectly
everything else in the eposide is pretty damn spot on as day9 always is in his analysis, i just dont like that he called the concept forcing where it already has a name which is playing abusive, playing blindly or assuming. other than that, awesome episode, looking forward to the countdown :D
