There are more than one ending.

Keep in mind it's an indie game. If the lack of budget shows anywhere, it's probably there. I agree though, it seems a little bland compared to the build-up. (though at least they didn't give up on the whole final levels like KotOR II ... )
The mechanics and atmosphere of the game are superb, however. They really managed to touch a nerve seeing how Day[9] destroyed his vocal cords in the playthrough.

Well I saw d9 do 3 endings, and I don't feel like any of the endings do justice at all to the game, it feels most like the creators of the game hope that the player feels statified just by being done with the game at that point, in the end, and we see this on d9 too, the game is just predicable and the monsters gets more annoying then scary, so at the point he makes it to the end he just want to be done with it, so I guess from a design the fade to black ending worked out well, but from a person who love stories in games this was a shitty ending
|
My first thought when I finished the game was that the ending was trash so I would agree with that. Technically there are 4 endings though

I can't complain too much. I still remember games like Super Mario Bros just starting me off on a more difficult adventure.

We're not 100% certain, but I had someone respond to me earlier saying he's mentioned at past live events.

I'd love to see Sean stream his 1v1's in episode no 400 :D That would be fun

Don't count on it, he still owes us for episode 200 :p

is there some place that lists the music that day9 plays on his stream? I know that some people have a last.fm account which is great for this purpose...

O h holy shit, I screamed like shit when I was watching part 13... Like shit loud, the whole house asked wtf was wrong with me. Me: "Watching day9 playing video games"

I completed the game but under the least stressing conditions possible, i.e. full lit room, screen with max brightness. I really wanted to see the ending :D but im a pussy.

in one of the amnesia parts (16? i don't fully remember) he states how he can be Grand Master with all races, but can't play this game for shit....

Yeah, it might have been a joke referring to all the "Its Day9!" trolling on the streams, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he was able to hit lower GM with all races

I was up till 3 am last night (New Jersey :D) watching Day[9] finish Amnesia. + Show Spoiler +I felt so bad for him when the chat trolled him, but it was soooo funny!
I'm also glad I finally got to see a whole "let's-play" of amnesia, because now I never have to play it I probably wouldn't sleep for a week O.O

I get why people doubt him being gm but mid master? It's not that hard...

Would probably have jumped out of my chair and fallen to the floor heart pounding during the part when he was chased to the ladder in part 13 or so
Ending was a bit lackluster though.

Haha when he turned to slam the door and it hit the monster right in the face? Would have died. On the spot. And yeah, it was kinda sad to see him just getting more frustrated and wanting to be over rather than immersed. I feel like that could be the game's fault though. Hit someone too hard for too long and they stop feeling it (you think they'd take a hint from their own torture instructions )

There is no doubt in my mind that he is grandmasters with all 3 races.
A and A+ in iccup is considerably more difficult than Grandmasters. I mean realistically C or so in iccup is closer to mid Masters than anything else.

Well some horror games do find ways around in it, even in the "toture" style they descripe in amnesia, like give a good scary part, then give a good or long part with none scary stuff, and without warning another scary segment, I feel that's what kills amnesia after a time, it's predicable and it's keeping the same theme all the way through, no matter how much of a weak soul you are to this sorta stuff, at some point you'll get immume to it when constantly exposed, it's possible lack of experience from the company, or maybe they didn't research from other horror games, who knows.
