Very good interview, thanks. I just have one problem with it:
The name is spelled "Raynor", not "Rayner".

Ack! Totally right. I blame my intern that transcribed this from the audio file. It's fixed now. Thanks!

That new video really looks like red alert (the most recent one) whatever it was called.

hmm cool interview. "G4: The original game took a little bit of heat from some experienced players where the end missions were just so hard. How’s the difficulty on those later missions? Does the difficulty level take a huge jump in StarCraft II in the later missions?"
lmao seriously? every single level in the campaign was a joke. hell i beat all the terran campaign (both vanilla and broodwar) by making pure marines (no medics lol).

but when it came out, shit was tough as fuck, especially for people new to the game (ie everyone who got it when it was first published). i couldnt beat terran mission 10 for the longest time. then after a short stint on battle.net, the entire campaign was easy

The original campaign you just defended your starting base until you have 12 battlecruisers. Since the enemy started off much stronger than you you couldn't really do much else.
I really like the direction the new campaigns are going

really looking forward to single player
will probably rush thru 1st time then go back to enjoy the side stuff :D

yea this game is gonna be epic. It looks like they are gonna be adding a good amount of variety in the objective lists and game play mechanics for single player. I want to play this game so god damn much its ridiculous.

is it just me or do the characters in the video seem to have no personality and are very generic.

Most of the press realizes the difference, but they don't care. They played SC1 8-10 years ago and have no idea about the meta game or write multiplayer off as "LOL Koreans will just own you on b.net, but I loved UMS maps"
I'm not anywhere near as skilled at StarCraft as this community, but I do follow the Korean scene to some degree and have tried iCCup (promptly getting my ass kicked).
The issues is that when we go to these events, the other members of the press refuse to play me after a few games because just knowing "of" builds is good enough to wreck them. I can't hang in the community room, though

I have to admit that, compared with multiplayer stuff, SP campaign is really awesome...
