I am mid master in wol and platinum in Hots. Its very humiliating.

The funny thing is the range of players i face on the ladder : from silver to master. Something is broken for sure...

I won my 5 placement matches and got placed in gold, however most of the gold players i've been playing are diamond+ in WoL anyhow. Most being Mid masters or higher, lol so really it doesn't matter much in beta other then to pump your own tires and say your in X league

Don't worry, leagues are dumb in hots. I beat a gm and the others i played and got bronze. Just chug on!

Having a similar issue... Am masters in WoL and then Silver in HotS which can be frustrating... Although there are still many players that are diamond/masters in low leagues, it is frustrating to not face anybody above silver despite a 20 game win streak....

Yeah same for me its fucked up. I lost a little bit of motivation because 90% of games are just terrible. I macro up and just kill my opponent and this stupid system does not match me up against better players.

I see similar thing, 50% of my games are against "bronze "silver", however most of them know what they are doing, what I can observe is they are usually low XP level, 4-10, so they are new to hots beta. My guess is there was a huge swell of players and they for some reason only new bronze and silver leagues were created to accommodate them. I've been playing a lot of unranked games lately, opponents there are at my MMR and I struggle to keep 50% win rate.

BUT, who cares, it's beta, leagues count even less than in WOL. It will all be wiped, only your experience and skill you've gained will transfer to the release, just keep playing the game.

Well, leagues in general are kind of messed up right now. Bronze is a hoshposh of players who are decent and players who are not right now, kind of like a massive wildcard. Silver is....weird. Gold is like Platinum and Platinum is like Diamond now from what I've heard. I've heard Diamond is actually consistent. Then naturally Masters and Grandmaster are always up for debate.

I dont think there is anything wrong with HoTs ladder imo. Keep in mind there are different servers added into one. So if you are plat or whatever on one server doesnt mean you will be plat on a different server.

I'm mid masters wol and silver in hots. When I first started hots I was gm, gm, then gold...then all over the place...so yeah, it's broken.

Yeah i can never seem to get out of Bronze and I know i'm doing better than Bronze and still i end up getting placed there. I mean I left my league like 3 times already and still end up in bronze so yeah it's broken

Just keep playing and don't worry about it. I had the exact same thing and after playing about 45-50 games now I'm being matched against even players in masters despite being initially placed in silver (Masters WoL Terran). I got to top 8 diamond with a record of 39-12 or something silly. It's evened out quite a bit since then. Now I play solely masters players.

Also, keep in mind unranked MMR and ranked MMR are separate but its the same ladder. So if i made it to master and whatnot on ladder, and then do an unranked game, i would be matched with like a silver. I think blizzard needs to make the ladder separate too because this could lead to abuses. If i get my rank up to GM, i can give points to GM players and all i would lose is MMR. Keep rinse and repeating and taking turn with the GM until we both are like high GM.

Just because you won 21 out of 29, it doesn't really mean anything. It would be nice to win 29 straight games but only winning 21 (and they are probably stagnated wins at that) wont get you a promo consideration. Either way, its only the beta. Take rank serious when the actual game comes out, not now.

I am diamond wol playing as gold in hots.
Played some plat terran who claimed to be a master terran since wol beta but he played extremely poor.
then I played some silver protoss who played at plat wol level I feel.

there was a korean terran who was at silver and played like a master lol
