I'm having fun with the beta. I participated in the WoL beta and I know how much changed from the beginning to the end -- so please ignore all of the "omg lulz this game sux" crowd. HotS is going to be fun. The haters will be playing it too, they just want to criticize for now because they think it makes them sound like they actually played BW. Feeling good about HotS and can't wait to see the changes that await us. GL HF.

The difference is that the complaints get mixed with the complaints and when you pour them all down the complaint drain they all mix together into one bix goupy pile of complaint and you can't differentiate. Unless Blizzard really bucks up and makes some necessary changes, I don't know how I feel about it - leaning towards not good at all.

I am glad about the hellion building, hope they stay that way *-*, few other small changes i am not so fond of though. What do you mean by "hellion building"?

Maybe he means them having battle hellions without an upgrade?

It was so hard to tell before as the range was larger than the actual radius of the animation. that was the entire point dude... so that it takes skill and becomes a fine art of knowing if you're just out of range or not. Knowing whether your opponent just scanned your spire, your dark shrine,... or didn't etc was a cool aspect of the game. Now that's gone. Everyone can see the perfect radius. The mines seem pretty awkward to handle. I still believe it would be alot better on a unit, then you can click where you want to place them and they burrow automatically instead of having them be so vulnerable while you're moving them etc but they are a massive improvement over the 10 second delay mine.

2. the new terran units are just sad, marauder and thor are super boring already, and then they decide to throw in 2 more robots, seriously how uncreative can they be? 3. replacing carrier with tempest is really bad imo, just give carriers a range upgrade. yes you need a "new" unit so you can call it an expansion but don't remove one of the most iconic unit in starcraft to do it

Uhh, pretty sure in Broodwar the animation covered the whole scan.

And with those slight messages current Blizzard shows what path they want to take and some people thought they would back up in Hots but in fact they are pushing it deeper, into more streamlined gameplay that is. Im not gonna argue with people talking about whether saturation counter change will only affect lower level players, because its ridiculous oversight. The signifance of this change will definitely help many pro players as any change that makes you think less about a game "itself" is better for many of them, it narrows the gap between who can think of many things at once and 1 thing at a time. It makes the game more strategical? Yes, because one of "distracting mechanic"(not the best term... but continue) will be decreased, and what we argue about is what Starcraft competiton is for us. Both distracting mechanics and decision making are part of both Starcraft 1 and Starcraft 2. But the shift in weight is different. Simply put, some people view Starcraft competition different, and the answer what is right? It lies in taste, some people like it that way some people like the other way. This change will definitely be helpful for understanding starcraft at casual levels, and certainly it will narrow some mistakes in pro competition.

Couldn't you technically do that with carriers or is there a build time difference between carriers and tempests that I don't know about? You can and white-ra usually does this on his stream, but he regulary dies when doing it. Also an impportant difference is that the carrier takes way longer to be ready.
