I don't think they've changed the campaign since release though. Also "ALL IN" was the hardest mission by far.

Mostly bugfixes tho and you might not see them in the patchnotes.

then again In Utter Darkness didn't really need that much other than graviton beam and psi storm either... so there are really no hard missions in the single player :s

I actually find it just as frustrating as always, and I'm pretty sure I've gotten better. I think I'm just really impatient when doing the campaign, as it almost certainly means my internet is down or battle.net is on maintenance. Or maybe carriers suck on that level. I probably try once on brutal and since it's been so long, I fail and say "screw it, I don't like this level anyways." The first mission where you have no warp gates drives me nuts, plus the lack of chronoboost in all missions. It feels so slow.
In theory, however, I should probably have an easy time doing a super Artanis archon toilet.

Your OP lacks information, it goes against TL legislation.
Improve the OP, man. Do you want a ban?

So many teenagers venting their RL rage here trying to make the OP feel bad for.. no reason. It's entirely possible the mission got nerfed because it is indeed one of the harder missions, it is at the very least plausible that Blizzard considered it to be ''too difficult''. I doubt any of the teenagers did any research at all to back up their stalwart response, I shall do mine! :-)
Have a nice day!

Kinda silly to have not read the thread, and also to be calling other people teenagers as well as using the term as an insult honestly. Especially when talking about doing research before replying.

In all seriousness though, when I first started playing SC2 the campaign was fucking hard
now macroing marine medic to complete all achievements on brutal is piss easy.
wonder who they balanced the campaign for

In Utter Darkness is not a Terran mission.
When SC2 came that mission was nearly impossible for me on Hard. Now I can do it on Brutal without any issues. And I don't play much either.
And I don't play protoss, I just understand the strengths and weaknesses of the units from having played against them. I know where storms go, I know how to pull back colossi. My micro and use of control groups is better so lifting up the hybrids is easy. My macro is better by orders of magnitude.
The OP found the mission easier because the OP has, amazingly enough, gotten better at a game he's played for the last 2 years.

They balanced it for people who hadn't played SC2 before, and not people who've been playing it for 2 years.

Have a nice day! The campaign hasn't been changed. The only patches have been bug fixes, and please, anybody who even casually played BW could go through the entire campaign on brutal, it's not hard at all.

I think you just got better. When I first played the campaign, it was very hard, but even a few weeks later it was much easier. Just needed to get used to the new game.

I have played the single player campaign over 100 times -- than needs an explanation of itself. So before you think I am crazy, I was stuck in a very remote place of the earth with once a month Internet access, that will eventually reach 2 kbits.
Due to one of the infamous Blizzard bugs, I couldn't authenticate my client, without downloading and playing a map, which I couldn't do, so I was stuck with single player and some very bad AI on the original maps.
Anyway - I strongly believe, there is no one who played the single player more times, than I have.
But enough intro - the campaign never got nerfed. It's just that we got better. Right now It's so obvious to me what I need to do and how to use what I got, that it looks like a child game. That wasn't the case when we all started learning the game back in the days.
And yeah - I have read every single patch note as well.

Rofl what a beautiful post, no dude you just got better. It's still the same old bitch it was before

btw: i experienced exactly the same as OP. had some problems with utter darkness back in the day, but then i was a complete scrub (started with 0-5 in MP, now i'm master). did it some months ago again for the lols and i did it at the first try without any problems

Utter Darkness didn't seem too hard, I just pumped colossi in addition to all the free units they gave... it was really easy compared to the toss mission before it (if you didn't speedrun that one with Zeratul that is)
But yeah, you got better. Gratz

Well bro u are swedish...and they tend to be good at gaming so maybe u got really good without noticing?

That would be physics, not "the gym". Silly jock.

Don't all the balance changes from the multiplayer carry over to the campaign? That might have a small effect maybe? I have only played the first 4 missions so I don't know a shit about campaign.

Dänske djävel! ;D Yeah, if you look at the amount of top pros from sweden and compare it to some other country like denmark, you might find it is pretty high. ;P I would actually like to see stats on that, how many pros are from what country. I suspect Sweden probably has third most. Där näppsade vi dansken igen?

I'm pretty sure the DT wall trick still works too. With that you can probably hit 3k no problem if you're playing plat or higher.
Also, brutal is disgustingly easy if you just spam MM or whatever the featured unit is. It's sad really, they need a harder difficulty.
