Would you enjoy a mode harder than brutal ? I do because even in brutal I feel that mmm bioball along with some upgraded goliath is too strong, so it would be nice to have a mode harder than brutal, which is pretty easy except all in and supernova.

What are your thoughts about it ?

Lol 19 votes and no replies. I think it's fine as is - you don't want it to be impossible - and the real challenge is in multi player anyways.

IMO making the AI more powerful wouldn't make the campaign more challenging/more fun. It would just make it more frustrating.

The ability to make the game more difficult is there: doing the achievements on brutal, and if that's not difficult enough, you can always try a No-Upgrade-Run

Yeah I spent the entire campaign thinking "Upgraded Goliath trivializes all of this". Wait no I didn't because everyone did it differently. I didn't use M&M past the first 5 or so missions, and I sure as hell didn't use goliaths.

If you find it too easy do a challenge mode:

No upgrades/techs is the basic one
only building mercs and marines is a tough one.

I'd love to play the campaign on a higher difficulty. Most missions are pretty easy even on brutal once you figure out how the mission should be played. Hopefully the HotS and LotV campaigns will be harder on the highest difficulty.

Try to beat missions using only the robot cat, missile turrets, scvs and medivacs.
It's supposed to be automatic but actually you have to press this button.

there isnt alot they can do to make them harder. i wuldnt expect more difficulty at all

Just give yourself more restrictions. You think marine/medic ball is too strong? then don't make either of those units. Problem solved.

Your implication that supernova was a hard mission to complete on brutal is a surprising one. Despite the Brutal setting being quite manageable I don't imagine a, "harder" difficultly to constitute any exciting challenge so much as boring repetition, and frustrating mechanics. Dealing with things like Tychus being a suicidal piece of shit on Engine of Destruction for example, on a difficulty "harder" than brutal would just be annoying rather than an actual test of tactical acumen.

Hm. I'll tell you this:
This is exactly like the diablo with the special events. Everyobdy thinks that it was so easy, but for a casual gamer it was an impossible task.
From my perspective, the Brutal is brutal enough, But I'm only a silver/gold player, so a little above casual gamer and for me, more brutal than brutal is not necessary.
However, looking from platinum/diamond point of view, people probably fight to get every achievement there is, so for them, the more achievements there is, and the harder they are to get, the merrier it will be to get them. And longer, and more mileage from a game to get anyway, so... why not?

It's all about achievements, anyway, or is it not? This topic I mean. Otherwise, what would be the point? Self-improvement? What good that would do if you can't brag about it?

I'd like an 'impossible' difficulty as kind of an ultimate challenge. Missions like Engine of Destruction would be ridiculously annoying, but I'd probably enjoy trying to find the perfect strategy for each mission.
On a purely personal note, I'd like to show Yellow the beauty of infinitely repeating Starcraft 2 bunkers. -Boxer

I would say that brutal is easy once you find the optimal path. You can't go against the flow on brutal difficulty (like kill all enemy bases).

On the other hand, what would require a higher difficulty? More precision while following the optimal path? That's not much fun.

I Think if they removed every unit, except Medic, Marine and allow you to use the other units only on specific missions, it will be harder! Oh...wait...

I think brutal is just fine. Its going to be alot easier for terrans on brutal because they are such a defensive race (tanks, bunkers, PF). I think it will be more difficult for zerg and protoss because of the nature of the races.
